You word your reply as if he could've had a great time with the users if only he hadn't expressed his interests and such. Let me tell you that people get mad for a reason, and that reason is so that you either punch the obnoxious cunt in front of you, or so that you leave. Him getting mad was a defensive mechanism in case he didn't realize that the users on here are shitty apathetic users who are just generally rude. You shouldn't deal with that kind of shit if you don't like it, and he tried to make them stop, but they wouldn't, so he did the only thing reasonable and left.

You misunderstand me fam, the start of the bullying was in a thread where he said something along the lines of not wanting to be associated with being a Furry anymore, when there was little to no insults happening in the first place. As someone old enough to join the Military, he is capable of understanding Social cues well enough to realise that he alone first brought attention to his old posting habits. You also misunderstood that I feel the perpetrators should've stopped when XSEAN told them to, as it clearly made him uncomfortable and he seems like a nice enough guy in Private Messages.
