Nice! That's a lot of shit, your cardio must be king
I haven't been able to string together more than 2 months' worth of uninterrupted training without falling away for several weeks but yee, my resting Heart Rate is 38 BPM. I was pretty surprised to find out it was below 50 within my first year of taking up Riding too. I have the same resting HR as my Friend when he was fit and won a medal at Track Nationals, but nowhere near the overall power and endurance he has (mainly due to him starting at an earlier age and having much better development). It's interesting how the body works.

My first Team sport was Football (AFL). I was always a Spud, but was pretty big for my age group. I was almost always placed wherever the Ball was least likely to be, but told to tackle as much as possible. Our Inter School Sports team won both years (grade 5 and 6) with me as a Defender (a few of those guys were pretty good so the ball never went in our back half). I played Soccer (sue me, it's the correct terminology in my region) a bit and was reasonably good at it, especially as a Goal Keeper too, but never really got into it as my school mates got really mad and started flinging shit at me after endless attempts at Scoring.

In Year 9 (2010) I took up Volleyball and had a pretty good serve that consistently scored points, but I partially tore a few Tendons in my Foot which sidelined me for 6 weeks, and by the time I recovered Volleyball season was over. I took up Middle Distance/Endurance running as a way to aid the rehabilitation of my Leg (it was so skinny by then that the widest point was the Ankle), and eventually got reasonably fit (sub-7:00 1.6 km after 4 weeks' training and 500 uninterrupted Situps that same year). I kept at that for a while until a friend invited me to a Mountain Bike race the next year where I placed 3rd, qualifying for State Champs and placing 11th IIRC. I did the Road Cycling event of that too and finished 4th, but decided to race Road despite the worse result.

So I've been Cycling ever since, and I started doing Track at the end of 2011 too, which was pre fun. I've had a Scholarship with a Sports Academy since 2012/'13, but that's mainly for Training Camps/educating people on how to be smart in competition, and realistically anybody with ambition can get in the Cycling Program. I was on the team that won the Team Pursuit at U19 state Champs in 2013, Bronze at the 2014 U19 Team Sprint Champs, and Silver at the 2014 Team Pursuit Championship. I still ride but haven't gotten any noteworthy results since some C Grade club race wins at the end of 2014. I want to do Road Nationals since they're in my Home town until 2017, but I keep being a piece of shit and not training/fucking up my diet/sleeping pattern. Also it's an expensive af sport in Aus.

I'm thinking of training in Boxing/MMA for base Fitness and to train the muscle groups that I don't work in Cycling. I wanna get to a pre high level tbh fam

The first 6 google search results have been stunningly vague in informing me that it'll be released in December "Just in time for the Holidays." I really don't want to go any further because the URLs resemble backwater News pages that ask you to whitelist them on AdBlock so they can throw Tabloid articles at you and open new pages without your requesting them to.

The Flood / Re: Bizarre Dream Thread
« on: December 02, 2015, 12:34:04 PM »
Last night I had this dream I was in the vicinity of this Flooded warehouse-type building that had been outfitted to handle the Water. The location was exactly the same as this dream I swear I had sometime between 2004 and 2007, and it unfolded in a similar way too. It started off as a Child version of me playing some balancing game with a few other kids. Something about standing on these old pier supports and jumping over the water between them. After that I remember something about going back to the warehouse to work or something, hearing news about my Parents' death and being assigned a Guardian. In both versions of the Dream I recall being a little shit to the guy, pulling some Home Alone-tier shit on him, but in the first one he played an antagonistic role being a cunt and overworking the kids in whatever the hell we were doing (I don't even know man), and in the 2015 version he was a really sympathetic guy trying to cheer me up, but I was just being an utter shitstain to the poor fellow.

Pre weird fam, but I've noticed that recurring Dream locations haven't been too uncommon for the past few years for me.

Gaming / Re: Biggest shark jumps in gaming
« on: December 02, 2015, 12:24:34 PM »
Don't think OP knows what jumping the shark is
after watching his selected videos, i'm not sure if he does either
I guess he thinks it has something to do with Unrealism/out of character moments in Gaming?

Anyway, one could make a pretty strong Argument for Halo: Reach in that it's a significant turning point in the franchise, and the beginning of a Decline for a lot of people, but I don't personally feel too strongly about it and Halo is one of 3 games I ever talk about, so I'll leave that one.

I feel like F-Zero GX had potential to be a Shark Jump if Nintendo didn't decide to pull the plug on the basis of not being able to bring anything new to the table in a future release (Fuck me, right? Just admit to not having optimistic financial projections for the IP, because Mario Party, Kart, etc. haven't revolutionized jack shit in years if you ask me). Back on topic, GX felt like a different game to me personally. The music was a completely different genre to X, the post-cup interviews seemed lame and gimmicky (they had the announcer guy trembling in fear as the Racer announced some noble or dastardly plan), and I feel as if they would have continued down that stylistic path if the IP had been continued in that era, tweaking a few extra things each release that make it feel less and less like F-Zero.

Just my two cents fam

It varies. Range is 2-8, but usually hovers around a 3-4 until somebody gets a known sore spot.

Scratch that, a really good meme catapults it to a 10.

Before some issues with my Elbows mid this year, I was getting close to being able to do Hand Stand Pushups. Would be a neat Party Trick ayy.

I used to lift, but college doesn't lend me enough free time anymore.

I only did it to prove the point that lifting is pointless anyway.
That is, if you're not interested in the way society thinks you should look. Which, you shouldn't be.
Eh, Lifting to improve strength kind of ties in with overall fitness, and has more than just aesthetic/self confidence benefits. Especially for people working in trades and hard labor jobs, it can help with injury prevention as well as delay/prevent the onset of Back and Joint issues in old age. I'd encourage all people to do Gym at least for that purpose.
