Isn't everyone on For Glory super good at the game? I can get a few kills on For Fun, but For Glory sounds nasty
FG is 1% amazing players, 4% good players, and 95% thumbless 9 year olds. It's still good for learning the game, but you'll learn more from playing absolutely dominant players than taking it easy.

Is Nuts and Bolts actually that bad of a game?
People always talk shit about it but I've never heard actual complaints other than "Muh Classic Banjo and Kazoie", and the whole premise of building shit all besiege like sounds pretty cool TBH
Even if it wasn't a B-K title, it would still be a shit game. They recycle the same levels in excess of 30 times, the Vehicle building is the primary mechanic of the game, and the entire story is literally "drive here, here and here in this time frame to get this reward." Gameplay is genuinely more limited than it was 8 years earlier. Skinning it as Banjo-Kazooie was a slap in the face to fans of the original 2 games, and don't even get me started on that god awful Lord of Games character. The only redeeming factor is the art style looks nice.

Hmm I might stick to single player until I get a better feel. I like using Marth, he has nice attacks and he's not too heavy or light. Is there a way to toggle the dashing? I hate it when I attack and then I immediately start dashing afterwards.
I recommend playing with IRL friends constantly if you know anybody who's into Smash (also get on Anther's Ladder if you want to get serious). Getting a feel for the inputs of each attack and what it does with your character is also important, as well as looking at what you did wrong. Another good thing to do is play as many characters as possible when you practice, so you know what to do when you're up against them. I got pantsed against Nosejob because I had no idea what Mega Man's moveset was like, and playing as him really gave me an insight into why I got memed so hard. Also watch some tourneys online (I like Shockwave through Tourney locator on YouTube). I developed a lot of my play style similar to Hyrule Hero's Link, and it can help you get to understand Edge Guarding and other stuff you don't really get to see against AI. As a side note, the Wii U's Wireless Net Card is a sack of shit, and you should try to get an Ethernet USB adapter as soon as possible, because it can hurt your performance a lot online. Marth is a good character to main if you know how to use him. His counter provides an alternative to air dodge when you're being juggled.

there wasn't a big sony conference in 2013 or anything, with multiple articles popping up afterwards addressing the new PS+ requirement.
I assume this is meant to be read in a sarcastic tone. Gaming doesn't often pop up in mainstream media and nobody seemed to want to talk about it much since then online. Just last year I remember seeing a thread where 50+ people were also under the assumption that PSN was free to play online.

Shit's so fucking hard. I've never landed an off-stage spike yet. Done a few arrow interrupts into Dash Attack as Link, but I can never predict where to be for an off stage Down Air.
