But they'll train you. Unfortunately despite being a human adult, the joeys will use you as a punching bag at first. Yes the kangaroo children will assert their dominance over you. But eventually you'll get sick of Joey #5 kicking your ass and you'll learn.
But the lack of recovery will only hamper my training and set me back by up to 3 months. I can't afford that sort of loss.

If you're hoping for $40,000 right off the bat, then I recommend some form of labour job, although you'll be competing with 16-18 year olds, whom employers would normally prefer to hire because of their age. An apprenticeship should get you a fair bit of weekly pay, and you'll be able to work your way to full pay pretty quickly if you juggle that with trade school.
My only other suggestion would be to keep grinding with the shit jobs until you can get out of the rut. I've submitted well over 250 job applications in the 2 and a bit years since finishing High School, and so far not one has showed the slightest hint of interest in me, so I've been in a <$2000/year job for 6 years now. Just keep at it fam.

oh boy here we go OT: That video seems to be aimed at kids who selected their dream job based on what they thought would be the coolest, with no consideration of the hardships involved tbh. Anybody who's actually serious about wanting to work in that industry will be well aware of the indie market saturation, and all of the other points addressed in the video, They'll likely be smart enough to take a few programming courses and whatnot. Of course it's not for everybody in practice. I can't think of a single line of employment that every person on earth will excel at/enjoy a permanent career in.
