Gaming / Re: I bought F-Zero X
« on: September 29, 2019, 06:45:37 AM »
Yeah, F-Zero X is one of the toughest racing games that I've played. I play on Standard and still struggle to get to 1st place and maintain the lead. That picture I put above of my standings and how close I was to losing made me nearly go crazy. It's been a while since a game like this made me scream and yell because of how satisfying it was to complete that race and win the GP.

One thing I noticed too when playing is that there isn't a character with a dominant car that overpowers the rest and makes them obsolete like most racing games. Every race there's always different cars in the lead and that makes the game more exciting and I also feel like they all have different racing styles too.

For instance, those bastards Blood Falcon and Red Gazelle would always be on my tail or in the lead but in another GP I play they'll be in the back struggling to keep up or fly off the track while others are way ahead of them.
I find the Rivals are always a mixed bag as opposed to other racing games where it's nearly universally 1 cunt of a character annoying you for the overall win. But traditionally The Blood Falcon and Black Bull are considered the best machines to drive due to their characteristics. BF's good stats and poor grip make it exceptional at executing speedrun strats where you slide off the wall to gain ridiculous speed, but I've never been able to do it myself.

My experience with online is usually scrubs who try to corner camp and have no actual strats beyond spamming moves, but I never played in elite smash.

Melee Netplay usually matches me with some monsters when my connection is good tho.

30 hours of Unreal Tournament 1999.

Y'all should've seen my Xfire account when that client still ran towards the end of its lifespan in 2016.
-69 hours of Hello Kitty Online (idk why but it was a huge meme to rename an exe file to HKO.exe and have that running in the background on my friends list so I joined in)
-75 hours of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
-120 hours of Unreal Tournament 2003
-950 hours of Halo Combat Evolved
-3,100 hours of Halo Custom Edition. Straight no-lifed that game from 2007 until 2011.

So quick question, I'm trying to get a stream setup running with OBS. It's pretty bare bones for the moment and I'm mostly looking to have a live dialog box to display live twitch chat on the video recording (mostly for my own benefit).

Alternatively any links to your preferred sources/tutorials would be appreciated.

My dirty 4. Rocking its sex spec body kit from the 00s. loud and proud. I just got clear indicators and a cat back 3.5-5.5” exhaust installed today.

Spoiler

Planning on taking my time with this tbh. I’m finishing up buying a full Z-Tune body conversion (w/GT wing and Canards ofc) to install for a better, more factory style/hillclimb look and will hopefully finish it with black LMGT4 wheels. Then I can focus on getting more fun out of the loud pedal :^)

DUDE HOW LIT IS IT, the game never stops giving.

Like, I unlocked Joker and X cups when I was in Primary School and a Master difficulty win still eludes me. I really wanna buy a N64DD Just to get the expansion because those tracks and the track editor look amazing.

I forgot how much I loved this game, though. That 90’s synth/electric guitar really brings out the atmosphere of the soundtrack, and even little details like the sound the purple strips make as well as the art design all really come together to make you feel like you’re racing in the distant future.

It’s pretty fun. It gets crazy later on and the mini sentinels + drones are absolute cunts.

Super polished game. I think I’ll do a bit of streaming of it and SPv3 later in the year.

Falcon's knee is almost like it was in Melee now

sweet
Been playing Falcon a bit casually and I just don't have a conceptual idea how to play him.
My game is so special oriented (Zelda, Samus) that any other playstyle feels super weird.
honestly, i just juggle with short hop up air all day and win
Air wobble to rest has always been falcon’s bread and butter tbh

Having both falcon dive and the knee as a kill option is 👌

Things have been p good for me aside from losing work, but it’s good to have some extra time to get the house cleaned, meme it up on Halo MCC with the boys and hang out with the gf. Gonna get on the job hunt too so I can get off benefits and earn again. My car has a dank power steering leak so that’s fun, but aside from that it’s all gucci 👌

Expert difficulty is balanced super well but I can’t see myself beating Master difficulty without learning railsliding and other speedrun strats.

The sacrifice of polygons and rendered items was worth the frames, the game does so well aesthetically for what it is, and the gameplay is fantastic. Fckn love it.

Gaming / Re: What fighting games have you played?
« on: May 23, 2019, 04:00:03 AM »
I have very limited experience with traditional fighters. The most I've played is a few casual SFV tournaments and understandably wasn't competitive.

Smash Bros. is my jam though. Melee in particular. I do tend to go for some incredibly hard reads and big punishes when it isn't necessary/optimal and get absolutely fucked for it. I've come to rely all too much on Ganon's sheer power and his stupidly quick/powerful jab to get me out of a whiff punish. It does save me a lot, but I'm better off just not misspacing Aerials lol. I'm dabbling in a bit of Falco to try and add a few skills to my repertoire as well as give me a better character option since Ganon is lower mid tier, though he's still my best character since I dropped Sheik.

In 64 I do a lot better, though most of the players I'm against don't have much experience/practice compared to my competitors in Melee, 4 (when I used to play) and Ultimate. I can straight up cheese people since Mario's Tornado and Super Jump Punch are brain dead at a low level, but I can Zone/edgeguard with him to a degree. In all I'd say my best characters are:
1: 64 Mario
2: Melee Ganon
3: Ultimate Sheik.

I'm down south so going into winter down here.

I just got laid off my job so I'm going to have to put my plans to update my Car's body kit on hold until I have an income again, though it is tempting to dig into my tax return to get it all done.

I have 12 days left until my license category updates and I can drive the thing, but I should be able to keep up with repayments until I get an income again, even if it is just government benefits.

My foreseeable future is basically cleaning the house, maybe do a bit more exercise in my free time, and, of course, job hunting. I still have a volunteer gig once a week but I need $ so I may end up leaving it if I can no longer afford the transport fees as it's about a 1 and a half hour drive to get there.

Could you imagine if it was an anime produced by toei and we had to sit through season 8 for 2 years instead of 6 episodes
