No doubt. In a sense, learning about the amen break kind of ruined a lot of d&b for me, becuase I didn't realize how pervasive it was. Before learning about it, one of my favorite electronic albums was The Propellerheads - Decksanddrumsandrockandroll. I think all but one track of that album was the same beat.

Maybe you got confused with the 24hr notation? 16:00 is 4pm, not 6pm, a mistake I've seen many people make.
Oh....
Just add or subtract 12.
16-12 = 4 pm.
20-12 = 8 pm.
3am = 15:00.
You only subtract 12 after noon. 3 am is still 03:00. 3 pm is 15:00.

Plus freeing the salves was ONLY for the purpose of winning a war. He wasn't concerned about it till he realized the North had the possibility of loosing as the South only had to conduct a defensive campaign, not an offensive one
