All stuff that can be considered outdated, and can be ignored or translated to modern times.
In that case I think we should advance the belief in God as outdated.
Edgy.
Why is the content of the Bible outdated, but not God?
It is outdated if you want it to be. So is the existence of god, as his existence is open to interpretation. I called him edgy, because I am of the opinion that militant atheists are annoying. Just as I am annoyed by religious fundies.

Why argue in circles?
I'm not arguing in circles. I'm trying to figure out why you think it's okay to dismiss the Bible as outdated, but not God.

The Bible is a piece of literature and thus is open to interpretation. Anything can be taken as metaphor. While one person can take it literally, another can meld it to fit their own personal beliefs. It is a guideline, not a code of law.
That's funny considering the fact that it prescribes some pretty specific punishments for pretty specific crimes.

All stuff that can be considered outdated, and can be ignored or translated to modern times.
You say that, but a pretty good number of people still follow the Bible to one degree or another would disagree.

Yes it does.

Christians follow the Bible, and Genesis clearly states that God created humans.

The Bible says a lot of things doesn't mean we follow it 100%.
Believing God created humans is a pretty big part of it all. If God didn't create humans, did he even create animals? Plants? Planet Earth? The universe?

Are we picking and choosing what he created?

Yep some christians do pick and choose what he created.
Why? If you have the option to pick and choose what to believe from the Bible, why follow it at all?

There's parts of the Bible that aren't open to interpretation. Like the existence of God. Or Jesus is the son of God. Are those metaphors, too?
The existence of god can be interpreted as the Jewish god that just doesn't give a shit, and Jesus being the son of god can easily be taken as metaphor.
So if the whole thing is a metaphor, why even bother with it?

Even if the church was totally cool with LGBTs now, I doubt many would go running back...

Man: looks like a primate, acts like a primate (sometimes), DNA similar to a primate

Christians/other religions that deny evolution: not a primate.

They just want to feel like we're all special.
Christianity doesn't deny evolution though..

Hopefully your mom has her financial affairs in orders, life insurance, and a will clearly outlined in case of her untimely death.

Just so you know, I'm reporting all of you for harassment.
Sure is PSU in here.

I am now.

I love when a religious person makes a thread everyone attacks him. Kinda messed up.
1) it's not attacking
2) it's a stupid-ass thread. It has nothing to do with the religious nature of the post.

Once a pleb always a pleb
>Still thinking that getting an expensive as frack rig is easy on a min wage job
It doesn't have to be an expensive as frack rig you know.
I already told you, its either the best or not at all.
You don't need a Core i7 Extreme with 3 Radeon 295X GPUs in order to run modern games at good settings.
I don't care, its what I want.
That's a terrible way to look at things.
