Septagon / Site suggestion?
« on: October 22, 2014, 11:37:13 AM »
Can I make a site suggestion/request?

If you edit your post within like, 30 seconds of posting it, could it not show as "edited"? So often I find a typo or something after I hit "submit" but I dread that "edited" tag.

Is that even possible?

The Flood / The binary ranking system.
« on: October 22, 2014, 11:33:31 AM »
Can we all agree to stop using the stupid and subjective 1-10 ranking system for how attractive someone is?

Let's just implement the binary system:

0 - no, I wouldn't sleep with them
1 - yes, I would sleep with them

So much easier. So much clearer. So much less "no way she's an 8! A 6.5 at most!" bullshit.

Agreed?

You know DDoSing someone is a federal offense, yeah?
Yes. I actually want to know where I can report it, it happened a few times from him and I get threatened with it according to my girlfriend.
The first step is to call your ISP. They have the knowledge and manpower to handle it best.

Attacker shot dead.
I spoke too soon :/
One Memorial Guard Soldier shot in chest is the only casualty i know off right now.
The gunman, the soldier doesn't count.
huh? Why doesn't the soldier count?
Because he's a soldier. They're only good for one thing.
Oh. I forgot who I was talking to.

Why not a Chromebook? They're cheap, light, and the battery lasts a long time. If you're just using it for school stuff, I don't see why not.

Actually, your property isn't yours. Irrelevant to the link, but when you take out a loan you're also taking out something called a lien. A lien is a notice attached to your property telling the world that a creditor claims you owe it some money. So when you don't make your payment, the the person who you gave you the lien has the right to keep possession of property until the debt is payed off, that's either if the person pays the amount owed or the bank/whoever sells it and makes money back

How would you know? Have you ever fracked on yourself?
More likely that he has than you.

There's nothing wrong with being a virgin. Sex isn't everything.
Everything, no. But sex is an important part of a healthy relationship.

Yeah well I have yet to be in a relationship so....

One day though. I'm not desperate like other people here are.
Wanting to be in a relationship makes you desperate?

Ok guy.

Illegal drug user, even once.
You wouldn't date someone if they smoked weed once? That's a bit strict.

3) doesn't matter. You can raise as much awareness for suicide as you want. The dead really dont care.
Awareness and help isn't for the dead.
so? You think you're going raise an emotionally and spiritually dead person from the metaphorical grave? Some people have already attempted it and failed. What would stop them from trying again the next time things are just as bad?
Proper support and psychiatric level help.
i don't believe you can help someone if they don't want help. If the person is well enough to seek help then I'm not entirely sure if they really were at risk of going through with their suicide threats.
Your posts reek of misinformation and lack of education on the topic.
mhmmm anything else? Not sure if you're going to actually discuss/explain anything or try to put me down for not knowing as much as you.
Considering how the rest of this thread has gone, it's generally advised that if you don't know what you're talking about, don't make such grand statements.
why? I'm more than welcome to people correcting me or telling when I'm wrong. There's no need to be an ass about it.
I've seen other people ITT thread say that awareness and help doesn't seem to be making much of an impact either which is what I said. I'm sorry if I they sounded more scientific when they said it and I didn't.
It's not about how you say it, it's about what you said. The awareness, treatment, accessibility, cost, etc, are barriers that prevent people from getting the help they need. "If they want to kill themselves, they're going to kill themselves" shouldn't be an accepted outcome. We should be trying to avoid that outcome.
If people want to kill themselves they won't seek help though.
Which is why we need to make it easier [both logistically and financially] and less stigmatic to seek help. Friends and family should acquaint themselves with someone who exhibits depressive behavior.
