A bunch of cool stuff and then those two towers blew up and everything changed
Pretty much. It kinda blows my mind that there are people young enough to not know what life was like before 9/11. It wasn't the 9/11 attacks that were bad - it's the domino effect that it had on our country that were worse.

I wouldn't say that ~10% of Americans supporting less-strict gun laws is somehow showing that the other groups are wrong...

The biggest difference was the economic prosperity and lack of sensationalize fear of terrorism. You didn't have to pack your liquids in a special bag when you flew and you could meet someone at the gate.
The internet wasn't nearly as big and useful as it is now. No cell phones. The government didn't spy on you like it does now.

what the fuck is NEET?
Not in Education, Employment, or Training. Governments love to record how many 16-25 year olds in this category, as it's a sort of indication how good the general economy/education is.
Hmm, I had never heard that before, somehow.

Current or former; dead or alive. Doesn't matter.
And you're not talking politics. You're hanging out, having a beer, splitting a pizza, watching a ball game, etc.
Who would you want to hang with?

If you don't know what these things are: Sickbeard is a web app that keeps track of your TV shows/movies/anime that you have downloaded SABnzbd is a client, similar to utorrent/transmission, but instead of doing torrent files it does nzb files
sickbeard can be configured to cue sabnzbd to download the newest episode of a tv show once it is uploaded to the servers. it acts like your DVR, but without any of the tv box nonsense I used to have a really sweet setup with all this + xbmc to play all my tv shows, but shut it all down when I moved and built a new computer. I figured I'd get back to it and get it up and running again, instead of manually downloading or streaming shows in <1080 like I have been the last year or so.

...sperg?
I guess it's from Sperglord which is derived from Aspergers.
So it's another way of saying autist.
That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while.

I have had multiple family members that were elementary/high school teachers and from what they've said and what I've read Common Core sound so absolutely fucking retarded. It will only put us farther behind other countries.
I'm not sure how you draw the conclusion that we'll end up further behind by raising education standards...

Which of you Pro-Common Core people actually sit in a Elementary/High School environment and see how Common Core actually plays out?
*raises hand*
