Why do you need a permit to concealed carry a gun? If it's concealed, nobody knows you have it, anyway.
Because it's a gun, genius.
But why is there a difference between concealed carry and open carry? If you're allowed to carry a gun, it shouldn't matter if it's open or concealed.
Concealed carry is superior in every way. It's quiet and offers the carrier the element of surprise against an assailant. In an area with open carry, violence is a risk. You could try to rob a convenience store, but you never know who could be in there.

Pistol open carry scares (ignorant) people, draws attention, and does little to prevent violence. Just take out the guy with the gun first from behind, then do what you want. Plus it makes you look like a sperg.
I understand it provides a tactical advantage, but I don't understand why there are different rules. You should have a permit to carry a gun, period. How you decide to carry it is up to you.

the difference is being able to see and know that someone has a gun
Why does the ability to see the gun require a different permit?
Because it requires a certain larger degree of responsibility to conceal carry since no one around you is aware that you have a gun. If you did want to shoot them you'd have quite the tactical advantage due to the element of surprise. When you're open carrying everyone around you can see and known you have a gun.
But any plotting criminal could just carry a gun around without a permit. The people who are carrying [whether open or concealed] aren't doing it with the plan of shooting people in public

Gaming / Re: Which FPS (framerate) do you prefer?
« on: October 10, 2015, 12:49:55 PM »
because then you can never do anything more than 24fps.
But that's the idea.
Quote
Why limit your whole game to 24 if it could be 60 with portions that look like 24.
Because art. You're free to ask questions like "why would you do this," but it ultimately doesn't matter--if the developer wanted to do it for the sake of artistic expression, then his vision should not only be respected, it is the only objectively correct vision.

If I wanted to make a game, I'd make it 30fps, for the explicit artistic purpose of ticking gamers who prefer 60fps off. I want them to get angry over stupid, small bullshit--and perhaps I could use the irritation elicited from this to set the tone/atmosphere for the game. There's your artistic purpose for having 30fps across the whole game, displayed at 30fps.
purposefully pissing off potential customers isn't how you make a successful game

Gaming / Re: Which FPS (framerate) do you prefer?

...Are you serious? Sometimes the artist makes a choice to use something that appears/sounds low-quality for artistic purposes, like you just said with video games. Lots of music uses style that sounds low-quality, but it's still playing at the same kbps as the rest of the song/album. The same idea applies to video. You can have a game that appears 24fps but is displaying at 60+
What the fuck would be the point of displaying it that way, when you could literally just have it be 24fps?...
because then you can never do anything more than 24fps. Why limit your whole game to 24 if it could be 60 with portions that look like 24. You don't put out a record at 128kbps if you could put it out at 312kbps with parts that sound lower quality for artistic purposes.

your art style could call for 24fps, but you should still be displaying it at 60+

It's like making music sound old-timey but still be high quality audio.
fucking what

Why the fuck would you have high-quality audio if you wanted to make it sound "old-timey"?

No--if you have some sort of artistic purpose, whatever it may be, to have 30fps, 20fps, or fucking 0.00001fps, then you shouldn't have to display it at 60fps--whatever that even means. That would disauthenticate the entire point of the artistic decision.

Well 60+fps is clearly objectively preferred.
Objectively preferred =/= Objectively better.

Dumbass.
more frames per second is objectively better.
It objectively has more frames, yes.

But more isn't always better. If you have some artistic purpose in having a low frame rate, then the low frame rate is objectively better for that purpose.

This is extremely, extremely basic logic.

...why would anyone vote for anything less than 60fps?
Because 30fps is perfectly fine and perfectly playable?
I mean, a honda civic is acceptable too, but there are better cars out there. No reason to settle for mediocre.

The only things of substantial value are sandbags, a utility truck, first aid kits, and a couple thousand rolls of gauze.

Nothing really happens here.

I know some discussion boards aren't free, but $60 entry fee for an online forum is pretty steep.

Go to gamestahp and get it for free.
There's a PC version? I don't own a console.
I have a crazy convoluted plan if you really reeeeally want to get back on the site.
Nah, I have no desire to play along in their stupid scheme.
Good man
What they did is a good way to ensure I don't buy any more of their games. I was considering getting a xb1 to play some MCC and such. I know Bungie doesn't own Halo anymore but I assume they get a cut from something like that.

If this is how you treat your community and dedicated users, you can fuck right off.

Bungie gets nothing

They fully sold the IP. No royalties, nothing.
Hmm, interesting. You would think they would at least bargain for a percentage of Halo sales/licensing fee since it was originally theirs. Maybe I'll have to pick up a used one and play some good ol' Halo.

I'd say in the same amount women cheat. In my case, Ex-Mrs Charlie cheated, in Foehammer's case, her baby-daddy cheated.

If you think about it, it takes two
I think it's shitty when the person who is cheated on gets mad at the third party for hooking up with your girl/guy. It's not the third person's fault.

woops

S'ok.

Assuming Biden does jump into the race, and is the first of the big three to drop out (Which isn't out of the question - his son's death is going to loom heavily over his entire campaign), I fully expect him to endorse Clinton over Sanders, and I would not be shocked to see most of his delegates supporting that choice.
could be he's joining in just to get more supporters for Clinton and help seal the divide between her and sanders.

By stealing voters from Sanders?
well yeah that and there are surely a specific niche of dems that aren't sold on Clinton and definitely don't want Sanders that might jump on Biden. He gets them, drops out, endorses Clinton and they go to her. Joe does a solid for Clinton. I wouldn't see it being out of the question in the party's interest of Sanders not getting the nomination.
just because biden endorses Clinton doesn't mean his voters go to her...

Supporters of Biden are likely going to be similar demographics and of similar belief to Clinton and her supporters.

Both are far more moderate than Sanders.
I don't disagree.
