In high school, my girlfriend wouldn't have sex with me, but she slept with some random dude at a party, got pregnant, and had his abortion like a good Catholic girl.

I was a little upset.

Always when I'm in work attire. Occasionally with casual clothes.

When no one votes republicans win. In this off year cycle only a third of the eligible voting population showed up to vote. Plus you had a bunch of voter suppression tactics being used in various states.
It's crazy how people cook up various excuses about the voting process because the republicans achieved numerous victories.
But it's true. Keeping the poor and minorities out of the voting booth is to their advantage.
Lol
I'm not sure what you're 'lol'ing about. It's true.

Nice, I'm assuming you did the equivalent to jail breaking to your android?
You can do most of what I did without rooting. Installing a third party launcher like Nova or Apex will allow you to change icons, folders, etc. The only thing I did that requires rooting is my home button battery icon, and hiding some of my status bar icons.

I'd be a little worried about rooting my phone. Sorry, just forgot what it was called for android.
I have a galaxy S5, wouldn't want to risk turning it into an expensive paperweight.
Rooting is pretty safe. Everything is reversible if you change your mind or break something.

What launcher do you use?
Nova, with Tendere icon pack

I'm not surprised

People just got hyped with the Democrats because Obama is half black. Now that he has only two years and much of his promises he never kept, it's like people waking up from a long night of drinking and thinking "ugh, shouldn't have done that"
Perhaps. His supporters have dwindled, no doubt about that. Granted that's normal with all presidencies. But I can see people are willing to let the republicans handle things, especially locally with the governors.
Seeing as how Obama's average approval rating is the lowest since Carter, people are simply fed up with him and his redundant policies
I'm sure it has nothing to do with Congress...

Its not just congress or governors. State legislators were even more of a bloodbath.
Meh. Havent been too bothered to be honest. In more of a sit back and watch mode.

Dem turnout was abysmal so I don't think this says much about 2016, or the country. Especially if you look at polling on the issues. Will be interesting to see where things go from here though.
Midterms historically have very low voter turnout, anyway.

Thoughts? I think it's funny people are so excited as if this means republicans can now operate without opposition.
Literally no one thinks this.
You're demonstrably incorrect. Plenty of people think that.
Reading a few Internet comments/misunderstanding people doesn't constitute as "plenty of people". To say people think any party can operate without opposition is simply you using hyperbole or just outright lying. The latter being most likely.
You said "literally no one thinks this."

The fact that people think that says otherwise.

« on: November 09, 2014, 02:45:25 PM »
Not saying the punch was justified, but sometimes you can't just shut up a screaming child at the flip of the switch. The majority of the time you just have to ignore their behaviour, which a lot of people don't seem to understand.
And if that's the case, you should remove yourself and your child from the store. Anyone else making a scene would be asked to leave just the same.
lol

You are aware that children act like that out of their own volition, right? Their mental and behavioural faculties aren't fully developed yet. They aren't aware that is unacceptable conduct in public.
Yes, that's exactly why a parent should remove their disruptive child from the area. It's called being a decent human being.
So you're essentially saying that parents should be kicked out of shops because of circumstances they have no control over, yes?
Except they DO have control over the situation. They can either get their kid under control, or leave. Literally nobody wants to listen to a baby throw a tantrum or scream. If the parent has the ability to remedy the situation in one form or another, they should.

I'm 95% against the death penalty. I only support it in the most heinous crimes when it can be proven without unreasonable doubt the person is guilty
But yet it's still a form of murder. Heinous crimes or not you're still supporting the action of talking this persons life which is something they did to somebody else. It's funny that you say abortion is murder, but you're supporting the killing of someone.
Quote
Against gun control.
Why? What good comes out of criminals being able to walk into a gun shop and being able to get a gun? What harm is there in having better background checks to  help prevent another movie threat shooting? It's funny that you're against abortion, but yet when it comes to something to help prevent criminals or insane people from killing innocent people you're against it.
Quote
That's a Constitutional right.
Why should owning a gun be any different than a driver license? Should owning that be a right as well?
Quote
tempering with it will lead to bad things
How would something like making it illegal to sell guns at yard sales or better background checks lead to bad things? Wouldn't you say someone that orders hundreds of rounds online that isn't part of a gun range may lead to something bad?

mur·der
ˈmərdər/Submit
noun
1.
the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
Funny you use that definition of murder for the death penalty, but not for abortion. Abortion is legal, thus not unlawful.

« on: November 09, 2014, 01:36:31 PM »
I can accept taxation as a form of contract between an individual and the government, exchanging money for services and benefits from the government.

It should be consent-based, however.

Taxation without offering a choice is theft.
If we could choose to pay taxes, nobody would and nothing would ever get funding.

Scientists agree that human life starts as the zygote. Funny how we care what scientists have to say on climate control and other things, but when it comes to life it's totally disregarded
I think you're confused. We know that it's human. It's certainly not an elephant or giraffe. The debate isn't over whether they're human cells, but if those cells are deserving of the rights of legal personhood.
A human is a human. Trying to justify what counts as a human is no different than 2 centuries ago when the same argument was made against blacks by not being human, or sub human species
So if killing a fetus is murder, is a miscarriage manslaughter? Obviously the mother didn't mean to kill it, but it's still dead.
