Brah, the generals and admirals waste millions on giving themselves shit like private golf courses all over the world and furnishing buildings that are to be demolished a couple months later with a bunch of expensive wood paneling and tiling just so they don't ever have to do any sort of "rough living".

Also, it's likely there for the same reason that Camp Pendleton uses some of their areas as paintball/airsoft recreation - for marines to enjoy R&R and moral boost.
But the cost and maintenance that a golf course requires is significantly more than paintball at Pendleton
Who knows, maybe it means they can afford to have it, then?
If they can afford a golf course, they're getting too much of my money. A marine base doesn't need a golf course.
