What's mathematic about it?
Some of the defining elements of math rock is the more complex time signatures, drum rhythms, and melodies.

Serious / Someone I know has been missing since December 29

Quote
Rescuers are searching the mountains near Big Bear Lake for a missing Irvine woman whose snow-covered car was found near a trailhead Sunday morning.
Lisa Ann Cimbaluk, 35, was last seen at her Irvine home the morning of Dec. 29. She did not tell her family where she was going but "there are no signs of foul play," said Farrah Emami, a spokeswoman for the Irvine Police Department.
Her family reported her missing Dec. 30.
Sheriff's deputies spotted Cimbaluk's vehicle early Sunday, Jan. 4, parked at the Woodland Trailhead in Fawnskin, a small community north of Big Bear Lake, covered in snow.
"Deputies and volunteers searched the area yesterday for the missing woman and are very concerned due to the overnight temperatures in the area," said Jodi Miller, a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
The National Weather Service recorded overnight temperatures dipping as low as 1 degree Fahrenheit in the Big Bear area since Cimbaluk disappeared.
I only met her a few times, but she is the daughter of one of my mom's coworkers; a few years older than me. From what I know about her, she has struggled with depression and other mental issues for many years, and has always had a bleak outlook on life. She doesn't own a cell phone, and didn't tell her parents where she was going. She's a sheltered Irvine kid with no wilderness skills, so unless she's been holed up in a cabin up there, I doubt she's still alive.

It wouldn't surprise me much if she went up there without the intention of coming back.

The world is a strange place.

85% is a hell of a good chance, but this is the first world, where you can have access to miraculous healing technology able to cure some of the worst plagues on earth, and still choose to not use it. Because religions.

His wife's aide had a boyfriend with a history criminal behavior, including murder, who also made hostile statements against the police and sees discrimination where there is none.
Are we going to start blaming everyone for the people they're marginally associated with?
A person in his position should not associate with someone like that.
So should De Blasio make his wife's aide break up with her boyfriend? Fire the aide because of her boyfriend? How do you even remedy that situation?
He's the mayor, that's his problem >.>
so what you're saying is that you think it's a problem, but you don't have a solution for it, which means you're just bitching for the sake of bitching and have no real reason for it.
Solution would have been to not elect him in the first place, but the candidate field was lousy >.>

But he also could 1) have kept Ray Kelly as commissioner (his firing was largely political as opposed to job performance) and 2) not associate with Al Sharpton, as opposed to having Sharpton behind him during his speeches.

He's done about everything he shouldn't have done.
He can't control what other people do, though.

Listen, I'm not defending De Blasio; I think he's shitty. But your reasoning as to why it matters what someone several-degrees-removed from him has said and done is stupid.

Exactly - HE is the mayor, not his wife's aide's boyfriend. Are you judged by your aunt's creepy ex husband?

hurr durr, nobody knows who the fuck I am, so I'd better make a Q&A thread!

If this was a case where the child wanted it, and the parents didn't, I would absolutely say the state should step in.

But that isn't the case. If she doesn't want it, that's her choice. Her mother is on board. Let them deal with her disease in peace.

Problem is, their legal argument is based on statues that have been passed (And have not passed) in other states regarding whether children can make this kind of decision. It's not like we have clear cut opinions that they can.
But the mother supports the decision, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I recall the US threw a fit over the plans of a mosque being built on the grounds of the Twin Towers, which is clearly discriminatory over the fact that the only similarity between the terrorists and the mosque is religious belief (It's not a fucking "terrorist centre", jesus). Those just come to mind off the top of my head.

That's the worst idea to have ever been suggested. Sorry I try to remove all prejudice and hate from my thoughts but I'd throw a fit over a mosque being built on ground zero too.

Fair enough, but I still don't understand why it's such an issue.

And thanks Max for the clarification. Now I really don't get why it was an issue.
It was only an issue if you're a hyper-christian who masturbates to the thought of the American flag. That, and it made for a good news cycle if you were a reporter.
