My biggest gripe is that this move is another step towards making college essential education and ruining the value of a diploma.
It already is. If you want a job that pays more than minimum wage, you need a degree.
It's already a societal requirement, we don't need to give it a foundation by further excusing it.
By giving people who couldn't previously afford it a chance at higher education, you're giving them a chance to rise out of the vicious cycle of poverty. We'll all be better off for it in the end. Improving our communities and society takes sacrifice. If you're not willing to make it, it will never get better.

MFW all you do is fucking complain.
Don't like it? Fucking leave. I'm sure there are many more places with fewer rules you will feel more at home in.

Oh great more things I have to pay for!!!
'
Says the child who doesn't pay taxes yet.
Hey, if you want 50% of your hard earned money going towards low lifes, go ahead. But me, I want most of my money. At least 90%.
how can you say that in good faith? that's a horrible way of thinking about taxes. you think people who benefit from taxes are all low lives? you use that tax money just as much as anyone else in this country. that's a distinctly elitist and snobbish stance.
Obviously not all are low lifes.
But if you have lived where I have lived, been to unemployment lines and welfare centers and you realize that 90% of people relying on government assistance (under 65) are NOT working to better themselves.
Free college? Thats a great idea in theory. But when it takes away from my money, and takes food out of my children's mouths, theres a problem. I already pay entirely too much for taxes.
Taxes are near a historic low. I doubt another $20 out of your pocket is going to hurt. If you're that hard up for cash, you're in worse financial trouble than you believe.

See, this is the difference between you and BC - BC doesn't make threads about 'LOL LOOK HOW MUCH MONEY I SPENT ON SOMETHING'
Good for you, boy-o. I'm glad you're in a point in your life where you can waste $7,000. It doesn't make you look cool, though.
Wait, so are you saying I'm better or worse?
Better. You don't flaunt what you spend your money on, especially when others might see it as a poor choice.

Weren't you gonna go buy a Porsche?
Considered it. The early model Cayennes have lots of issues, so I passed on it.

History is literally one of the most useless and boring subjects there are, almost as useless as politics even.
Sweet relevant comment, bro!

I'm not sure what raping your wife has to do with the topic at hand.

ITT: Rape.
Can't rape your own wife....
The law disagrees.
Marital rape in United States law, also known as spousal rape, is non-consensual sex in which the perpetrator is the victim's spouse. It is a form of partner rape, of domestic violence, and of sexual abuse. Marital rape is today illegal in all 50 US states. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marital_rape_%28United_States_law%29
That blows. Good thing the law has no effect on me or what I do in my own home.
.. I just can't.

Everywhere else it is considered a fruit, but in Oklahoma the watermelon has been officially declared a vegetable. And not just any vegetable, Oklahoma's house of representatives yesterday voted to award the watermelon the honour of official state vegetable. Pretty sure Common Core would teach Oklahoma the difference between a fruit and a vegetable.
Well, really, vegetables don't exist. It's a grocery term to designate between different foods. They're all really fruits.

Honestly, in our social climate, it's difficult to have this discussion.
The one glaring issue about men's rights and equality that I see is when it comes to divorce, and how the children so often go to the protection of the mother, and the father gets fucked on child support, etc.
It's rather inconsequential, but my own experience is only mildly uncomfortable. Working and volunteering at schools, a field dominated by women and most of the adults on campus are women [if you count lunch ladies, librarians, and even the moms who pick up/drop off their kids] I would get plenty of funny looks for being the lone man walking through the parking lot or near the playground.
it's unfortunate that so often women are taught to treat all men as a threat. I understand the reasoning behind it, kinda, but it's unfortunate nonetheless.

American ISPs are shit. The only ones worth having are only marginally less shitty than others.

So basically your argument is "I can laugh at people freely and say how excited I am to see that their family member is dead because I am a huge cunt."
Yeah.
The law shouldn't be able to stop anybody from just being a cunt.
As unpleasant as cunts are, I agree.

The thing that bothers me is you see the American news media reporting abut this and showing some of the magazine covers and cartoons they did, but they're being censored. That defeats the whole point! If you're censoring these cartoons, you're letting the terrorists win!
I wonder if they're just censoring the gory parts. A lot of the cartoons were fairly violent (though I agree they should be published in full).
Because I internet all day, I saw a lot of the comics online, before a bunch were shown on tv. A lot of the ones that were censored weren't even gory ones, from what I could make out of the overall colors, shapes, etc.
