No other candidate offers any significant change that aligns with what we want.
What happens when what you want is stupid?
Then we disagree. It happens.

If you invest in them, you'll see it on the other side.
Great, you've just made an argument for having higher education. You haven't made one for financing it a certain way, though.
My issue is that I don't think having kids start off their adult life $30,000 in the hole [on the conservative end] is setting them up for much success.

Also, way to not even address Clinton's college plan. I spent, like, 1 whole minute finding that for you.
Because reading.

Is it bad? No. Would it help? Yes. But it seems to treat more symptoms than it does the disease, focusing more on things like interest rates and refinancing options than it does the fact that tertiary education is fucking absurdly expensive.

In-state college assistance? That's great in some respects, but if you're stuck in a shit state that doesn't have very good schools...well...good luck. The difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition is obscene.

I don't think we don't understand, we just have a fundamentally different view on how it should function.

Huh. Where have I seen that line given before...
I don't know - where?

What are Hillary's plans to reign in college costs and student loan debt?

Because it's true - they're voracious and passionate, sure. But they fail to have a basic level of knowledge of the American election and governmental system.

But he's the only candidate who has indicated any desire to fix the problems that effect young people more than the older folks.
You mean like how fucking terrible it is that college students have to pay for an education which primarily benefits them, as opposed to having it being paid off the back of the taxpayer? Yeah man, issues specific to younger people are so important.

Who gives a fuck what young people want right now? We're living in a world where the economy has stalled and will continue to grow slowly, public debt is at unprecedented levels and geopolitical tensions are among the highest they've been since the collapse of the Soviet Union. And you want to elect a guy whose economic policy is based on magic, and whose grasp of foreign policy is limited to "I didn't vote for the Iraq War" because muh youngins.

What the fuck is wrong with people's priorities?
Who the fuck do you think all the taxpayers and business owners will be in 15-20 years? Oh right, all the fucking 18-34 year olds right now. That's why it matters what they want. If you invest in them, you'll see it on the other side.

But no, lets keep doing the same old shit that benefits the rich people. That's been working great for us.

Unreliable? Perhaps.

There is no "perhaps" about it - Voters 18-29 are the least likely to come out and vote by an average of 10-12%. Not to mention the fact that this upcoming month, when many of the states where Sanders will need young college voters assistance, they will be on break and (likely) relaxing, not voting.

Yes. He is the only one making suggestions to fix issues like student debt, healthcare, and other issues that millennials care for. My apologies for overlooking this absolutely correct statement.

You know this is bullshit, or I hope that you do - but Sanders is far from the only one who has proposed changes to these institutions. He's just the only one throwing out buzzwords like "Free tuition!" that 18 year olds who don't have a grasp as to the ramifications of such policies grab onto with a frenzy and scream "Bernie cares for us!"

I'd be genuinely surprised if you didn't see a bigger 18-34 turnout in 2016 than in 2008.

...Based on any specific polling/studies?

I expected a little better argument from you other than "Sanders supporters are just kids who don't understand" which we see echoed on the right.

But it IS refreshing to see a politician give a shit about the younger voters. That is exciting!

"Wall Street speeches"

Can't have our candidate getting paid to speak to those big, mean public corporations now, can we?
It's not about "big mean corporations," it's about transparency. The fact she hasn't released anything seems to indicate she has something to hide.

If she's trying to win over people who are skeptical of her, this isn't how you do it.

And if Bernie is trying to win a Presidential election, continually pandering to a base of unreliable voters isn't how to do it.

I get the point of it but....

The fact that they thought it was needed is sad.
I don't see the issue here. Some people like playing games with LGBT characters or themes. This makes it easier to find those games.

If you don't prefer those kinds of games, then...nothing. Nothing happens.

>like how people of color are disproportionately more likely to end up in jail, despite us not mentioning that they also commit a disproportionately high amount of serious crimes compared to how little of the total American population they account for
I wonder if racial minorities are more likely to end up in jail because they are more likely to be products of broken homes and shitty schools, so they're left with few options, so they choose a life of crime...

(x race) people don't commit more crimes because they're (x).

openly accept new madeup pronouns might be a bit too much to ask (that ze/zir xe/xem crap)
You know what, I consider myself to be a proponent of transgenderism after heavy consideration now, but I absolutely refuse to recognise this special snowflake pseudo-science garbage. There are only two genders that you can identify with. End of.
Slippery slope was never a fallacy
There are valid and invalid uses of the slippery slope fallacy. If you can provide an inductive argument between the established and predicted result with reasonable evidence then it should not be considered a fallacy, although there are legitimate slippery slope fallacies out there. Gay marriage leading to bestiality being a prime example.

I agree though. It's basically become a cop out meme if you can't come up with your own counter argument.
On the flip side, an example of a legitimate 'slippery slope' argument I've seen most recently is if a company like Apple gives the government a backdoor into secure/encrypted phones.

Oh right, because of all those non-Muslims who do the Jihad thing...
what? it's important to point out that trump was only referring to jihad in the quote and not as islam as a whole.
But who wages jihads? Muslims.

Oh yep, look at all my white privilege keeping me in the working poor class while there are blacks doing better than me.  It sure must be a racial issue and nothing at all to do with class.
Gee, it's almost like there's a variety of things at work here, some of which are related to race...

Do people really exist where their hatred is so specific that it warrants a new word like transmisogynist? Are there people who are only transmisandrists?

Their lives must be really boring to bother using energy hating such a specific group of people.

You can't invest in space or military because all the money goes to socialism.
You...what? That doesn't make sense. Even if we were ditching capitalism and replacing it with socialism [which we aren't] I don't see why that prevents investment in space/military

So a facebook group for anarchists which I used to follow just used this word. What's wrong with the word transphobia? Is the social justice left becoming so allergic to the concept that white men could have troubles that they have to twist the terminology to reflect that?
I would assume that transmisogyny is specifically directed at MtF transgender folks.

But then again, just because someone on a Facebook group said it doesn't mean it's becoming a "thing."

Orange County, CA.

$3.29 for premium here.
wtf

Why is that high? I know Cali typically has higher prices than the rest of the states but you're paying twice as much as I am.
*shrug*

Because people are dicks. I mean, I could drive 10-15 miles to a different area and pay less, but it takes a half hour to get across my town as it is, so I just say "fuck it"
