Yeah buddy. That was with a few errors, too.

I'm not going to stop you from doing it, but you're a damn idiot if you do. It's 2015. People know it's terrible for them. I have no sympathy for smokers.

At least in the 50's and 60's they weren't sure how bad it was and had an excuse.

I also hate those smokers that take a break from work every 45 minutes.

I once got drunk and scratched on the 8 ball.
Moral of the story: Don't drink and play pool or else girls beat you.
My last girlfriend was a damn pool shark. I could never beat her.

This one time I went to a beer festival with my best buds, got a solid buzz in the middle of the afternoon, and watched Reel Big Fish play. It was a good time.

Drugs > alcohol
But I can't go down to the pub with friends and drop some acid. Having a few beers is easy though.

They do not support LGBT rights and equality.
Not supporting things like gay marriage is not morally equal to be against gays. You will find LGBT people who have the same positions on LGBT rights as some Republicans, and women who have the same opinions on the place of women as some Republicans, but that's mostly a religious issue if at all substantial.

Quote
They do not support women's rights and needs [abortion, contraception coverage in health insurance, etc]
Being against abortion is abominable, sure, but let's not lump contraception in their either. A pack of condoms is, what, a couple of bucks? The State is there to make sure you're insurance company will not let you die from lung cancer or whatever, it's not there to hold your hand while you bone somebody.

Quote
They do not support expansion or continuing welfare benefits.
Neither do I. . . Fortunately, you haven't accused me of being "against" poor people because that will be a stupid thing to do. Not wanting more welfare =/= letting people fucking starve in the streets.

Quote
They do not support immigration reform, unless you count deportation and building a bigger wall as "reform"
Which, again, is not qualitatively equal to being "against" minorities.

Quote
They do not support the ACA.
Being against shitty healthcare reform =/= being against healthcare.

You're finding legislation and positions we probably agree are stupid on the side of the Republicans. The difference here, however, is that you're slapping all of these moral consequences which imply hating a certain group of people or being indifferent to their plight instead of just criticising the policies on the basis that they don't work.

I don't give a fuck if Republicans want to end all welfare. I just care if our society will be better off in the long-run for it. I can respect the conclusions you've reached on things like abortion and immigration reform, but I'm not going to respect the tribal biases you shoehorn on top which will ultimately cloud your methodology and lead you to work backwards from your conclusions.
While some of those things aren't explicitly "against" whatever issue, to those who care about those issues, that's what it appears to be. It's going to be very, very difficult to win a national election with such a platform.

It's no surprise that Republican Reps took control, but on a national scale they really don't stand a chance. You can't run on a platform against gays, women, minorities, the poor, healthcare, etc, and expect to win a national election.
Max, please.

Enough with the tribalism.

I know you think Republicans are a bunch of money-grabbing psychopaths on some Nietzschean mission to ruin the lives of their perceived inferiors, but the word "delusion" exists for a reason.
I'm not making this shit up, though. This is their platform, and it's well-documented.

It's funny that the GOPers think they have a chance at the White House next year.
I said the same thing before the midterm elections and now I don't know what to think.

Let's say under $40k new. What do you suggest?

I'm really just looking for something economical to drive around town for work. I do a lot of driving, but not much in the way of long distance, so range is nice, but not a dealbreaker.
A lot of driving, not much range. Get a bike.
I would if I didn't have a bunch of shit to carry with me.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-03-09/hbo-web-streaming-service-available-in-april-for-14-99-a-month

Quote
HBO said its stand-alone online service will debut next month with Apple Inc. as an exclusive partner, bypassing traditional cable packages and challenging Netflix Inc.

The Web-streaming service -- known as HBO Now -- is $14.99 a month and will be available April 12, HBO Chief Executive Officer Richard Plepler said Monday at an Apple event in San Francisco. HBO Now will be available exclusively on Apple TV, iPhones and iPads for three months.

By offering the Time Warner Inc.-owned premium channel outside the cable bundle, HBO could prompt more consumers to cut the cord and threaten the TV ecosystem. The move pits HBO directly against online streaming service Netflix, which has more than 57 million subscribers worldwide.

“This is a transformative moment for HBO,” Plepler said at the event. “All you need to get HBO Now is a broadband connection and an Apple device.”

Because gas is expensive. My apartment complex has solar powered charging stations, so filling up would be free.

« on: March 09, 2015, 12:59:06 PM »
Compared to Obama's unconstitutional actions, this is pretty low on the list for things to be up in arms about.
If Obama's actions are so visibly unconstitutional to the layman, how is he still president?
Because impeachment requires a legislature which isn't also fucking shitty.
While true, even a shitty legislature can see compelling evidence that the president's acts are unconstitutional. There's nothing to lose from the impeachment process, so they should have done it long ago at this point.
Obama's impeachment = President Biden

No Republican wants that.
LOL

I keep forgetting about that.

If Republicans knew what was good for them, they'd tap Jon Huntsman for a nomination, but I fear he'll never run for president again.
