Spoiler Anyone who'd use this short news article to jump start more gun control debate is an obvious liberal. Well when the fuck can we? This is the same thing we hear after every fucking gun incident; school shooting, accidental child deaths, etc. It's never the right time to talk about it.
The problem here is trying to make it all about the gun.
I know you're not dumb enough to think the mere presence of a firearm triggers violence, but some of these reactions make it seem like there are people that really do.
There are so many other factors at play here that you can't just isolate the implement used and blame the crime on it alone.
Obviously the background information isn't available to me so I can only speculate, but I'd wager that 90% of these "kid finds gun, people get hurt" stories come out of households where the parents thought "hurr, guns are neat and make me feel safe!" Then bought a shitty Taurus, with absolutely no time spent in gun safety courses, then left it in a drawer/purse/closet loaded. I can tell you for sure that ANY household where a kid has unsupervised access to a gun is ignoring the very basics of gun safety. The parents are 100% responsible for these incidents, but I'm positive that if these people had any background in firearm safety, these things would almost never happen.
Then you have school/mass shooters, who are invariably mentally ill or terrorists. Disabled people having access to guns is, again, a failing on the part of their peers and guardians, and good luck preventing terrorism from happening.
Just reacting to all of these incidents with "Obviously GUNS are the problem" demonstrates a serious lack of understanding.
You're totally right, but we can't even have THAT conversation. No conversation about gun safety or access to firearms by mentally ill people is allowed to occur.

i also don't speak automechanic
You're gonna have to tear the block apart and replace the piston rings you fried.
See, the problem is he's granny-shifting, not double-clutching like he should.

You can't just make a thread talking about how you love the way a car looks without posting a picture of the car. It's like a crime.
Both are incorrect
Are the 2016s out already? It's only March.
Neither of the names I used are referring to the cars that come to mind.
Look up F150 on google images, and see what you find, then it'll make sense. Read my comments
What the fuck are you even talking about? The pictures I posted were of the 2015 F150 and Beetle.

Oooooooh, hatch beetle.
I like it.
Honestly, I kinda want one just to dink around town in.
I'd buy one just for the novelty of a five-banger. They didn't go back to being rear engined though, did they? I always thought that was kinda cool.
Not to my knowledge they didn't.

...I've been playing far too much tank games, all I see is people mentioning Sherman's and Lee's...
But to go back on topic, with cars I prefer a classic/retro look, or at least a large nod towards to the older versions. I'd kill for a modern version of the Lancia Delta like this concept:
Good god. *begrudgingly unzips pants*

The "new" Beetle was way too bubbly and girly. The most recent redesign is a lot more reminiscent of the older classic models. I approve greatly.

They are thinking of a combination of human error and a mechanical issue.
There's a reddit post about the flight path. Apparently it reached 38,000 feet, then steadily descended, indicating the pilots had no control over the plane on the way down.

Is it possible the commercial timing was cut short? That happens here often and you'll just see a blip of the next ad.
BBC has no ads. Funded by the taxpayer.
huh. I have no idea then. What's the old adage? "Don't attribute to malice that which can be dismissed as stupidity"? Maybe someone fucked up.

BUT COMMON CORE IS PART OF THE LIBERAL AGENDA
Are you going to withholding the funding for schools if they don't adhere to common core?
I don't know what the policy is on that. I know there's a lot of push back on the state level about it. I don't know what the options are for accepting/rejecting Common Core.

Alright, if denying FEMA funding to them isn't the answer, what is?
Order schools to educate their students about climate change. Encourage rival media outlets to go after conservative sources that try to deny or downplay climate change.
Basically do whatever we can to educate the remaining climate change skeptics so these idiots stop getting elected.
That's what's happening, but it's moving at a snail's pace. As in the case of Texas, climate change deniers have tried to change the curriculum to cast doubt on the veracity of climate change. A similar situation happened in West Virginia. There's very little indication that climate deniers have plans to stop anytime soon. Even universities are pandering to climate deniers. The biggest major news network in the country constantly touts the climate denial perspective. A current member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works receives money from BP. Climate deniers actively attempt to discredit their opponents. (And that's just one example.) Good luck finding a GOP candidate who hasn't tried to cast doubt on climate change.
Climate denial is deeply ingrained in our society, and there's no sign of it going away. Worst case, trying to discredit them will just encourage them to play the victim card, and it'll work just like it always has. There's a strong wave of anti-intellectualism at play here. And a lot of it's not even about 'ignorance,' but about pushing an agenda because there's money in doing so. It's clear that no amount of disasters such as hurricanes will change their minds. How much longer will we wait to do something about it?
holy shit. nice link work.

What about ordering schools on a federal level and making climate change questions a part of Common Core?

Cormier’s representation by Kallman Legal Group is likely not a coincidence. David and Stephen Kallman, a father and son team, already have a reputation for opposing LGBT equality in Michigan. In October of 2013, they submitted a legal memo challenging proposed LGBT nondiscrimination protections in Delta Township, claiming that the ordinance would violate others’ religious freedom. The memo compared homosexuality to extramarital sex, polygamy, pedophilia, serial killer rapists, necrophilia, bestiality, and incest and suggested that because gender identity is “internal to the person,” someone accused of discrimination would be required to be a “mind-reader” not to discriminate. Their suit against Planet Fitness for respecting how individuals self-identify their gender seems to disprove this last concern.
In addition to his legal practice, David Kallman serves on the board of the Colorado-based Salt and Light Global ministries, which believes the Bible is infallible and seeks to impose God’s law “in every social sphere in every community.” Both Kallmans also serve as legal counsel for the Great Lakes Justice Center, which has published issue briefs similarly rejecting LGBT protections as a violation of religious liberty and describing such laws as an attempt to promote “civil acceptance of homosexual conduct through the force of law.” People really think these things.
