I wanted to post on #destiny/#clans about something, include my real gamertag which isn't active anymore, to see if a ton of people will add/message me.

What would result in the most responses?

Quote
An Ubisoft representative has claimed that the games industry as a whole is dropping the 60 frames per second standard, saying that for the console versions of Assassin’s Creed Unity Ubisoft actively targeted 30 FPS rather than 60FPS because it provides a more preferable experience.

Assassin’s Creed Unity’s world level design director Nicolas Guérin made the claims in a recent interview, which echo a number of high profile voices in recent months that have claimed cinematic experiences are better suited to 30 frames per second. In fact Guérin goes so far as to claim that when development teams push for 60 FPS, the game ends up looking less like the real thing.

Quote
"At Ubisoft for a long time we wanted to push 60fps," he said. "I don't think it was a good idea because you don't gain that much from 60fps and it doesn't look like the real thing. It's a bit like The Hobbit movie, it looked really weird.”

lol. Such peasantry.

The Flood / My team lost tonight
« on: October 09, 2014, 11:23:11 PM »
Tonight my softball team [ranked #2] played the first place team. We're both undefeated and they're only in first because they have more runs scored than we do.

We just couldn't make it happen. They hit better than we do, and they're better in the field than we are. But you'd think after over twenty years of playing sports, that I would learn how to take a loss. I'm pretty angry, especially considering we were undefeated last season, too. There goes our perfect record for this season.

[Steam page]
First person to respond with "I want Ibb & Obb" gets a Steam key redemption link PM'd to them. I have only one key, but it is good for two copies since this is a 2-player game.

Feel free to say other things, but you wont get a key.

The Flood / A firearm is not a weapon
« on: October 09, 2014, 04:04:55 PM »
Quote
A firearm is designed to launch a projectile, usually a bullet in today's world, out of it's barrel, usually with the use of rapidly expanding gasses. Better firearms launch this projectile further, straighter, and faster.

A weapon is designed to hurt/subdue/kill/eliminate a threat and/or hunt. Better weapons are more efficient at doing so.

Your thinking is so vulgar that it makes me judge your intelligence.

A St Louis city policeman shot and killed a young male suspect on Wednesday, authorities said, bringing new tension as protests continue over the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teenager in August.

The officer had attempted to stop the fleeing suspect, the St Louis Metropolitan Police Department said on Twitter. During the chase on foot the suspect turned and fired at the officer, who returned fire and fatally wounded him, the force said.

Serious / sex ed + free contraception = wow!

Teens who were educated about methods of birth control and who received free contraception were significantly less likely to get pregnant or to get an abortion compared to other sexually active teens, according to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Nearly three-quarters of the 1,404 teens who took part in the Contraceptive CHOICE Project chose intrauterine devices, or IUDs, which are small devices placed in the uterus to interrupt the process of insemination, or contraceptive implants, which are small plastic rods inserted into the arm that continuously release a synthetic hormone called progestin to prevent pregnancy. Health workers in the project promoted these forms of contraception since they are long-acting, providing protection for up to 10 years.

I'm concerned for his health. Maybe he got hit in the head?

Or, y'know, not.

Quote
The student, a ninth grader at Right Choices Alternative School, identifies as an atheist and opposes the phrase “under God” in the Pledge. When he has attempted to remain seated at his desk in a quiet and undisruptive manner during the Pledge recitation, his teacher has instructed him to stand, has told him that school policy requires him to stand and has also threatened him with punishment. In addition, the teacher has argued with the student about his atheism, has questioned the student’s patriotism and has insisted that his actions are offensive to members of the U.S. armed services. The student contacted the American Humanist Association’s Appignani Humanist Legal Center through the organization’s DontSaythePledge.com campaign website.
