You haven't explained why they aren't. They very well could be. Why not impose a trial in a state or community?

Anybody who thinks a flat tax is a good idea has such a piss poor understanding of basic economics that the only appropiate response to them is:

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

>"Poor understanding of economics"
>Is a poor fag who can't afford shit

Why do poor people call themselves the best economists? Because they have no economy

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
I'm poor? LOL

Taxing people who make $20,000 a year the same as the people who make $2,000,000 a year is just laughable. Take an economics class in college or something, or do some research. Holy shit this is basic stuff.
Uh 17% of $2,000,000 is still more than 17% of $20,000.

And this. Lower income classes won't have it any harder, really.
People making 20k need every fucking penny they earn. Someone making 2m wont feel it as much, even though the total is more.

So it'd be no different from how it is now, people will still save and earn up what they need. Also you imply people making 2 million a year won't need every penny either, when to earn that you'd likely be running a business that needs all the money it can to sustain itself. In the end both a 20k salary and 2 million salary have the same problems.
OH NO SOMEONE MAKING 2 MILLION A YEAR CANT AFFORD THEIR 4TH VACATION HOME AND BENTLEY

OH NO SO SAD

I FEEL SO DEEPLY FOR THEM

You should, they earned it for themselves and people like YOU want to steal it away from them.

As for the "shitty mortgage" bullshit example, maybe those people shouldn't be stupid as to buy a house with a salary just above the poverty line and should manage their expenses. Or better yet, get a better paying job. Man, you make it sound like every 20ker is either a dipshit who can't delegate spending or is always struggling.

Yes, get a job. It's not that hard. Plus, I said get a better paying job, not just outright get one. Unless you like welfare babies.
I'm sorry the quote from a show didn't perfectly match your stupid argument.

You've yet to show any clear reason why it's "stupid". You sound like you just hate on the rich tbh.
There's no point in discussing anything with you. It's like hurling bricks at a wall.

Sounds like you're making excuses. You've not presented any substantial argument except to spout the liberal stereotype of "hurrr the struggling poor" and "ERRRR THE EVIL RICH WITH A BENTLEY"

If that's the substance of your argument then you're right, there's nothing to discuss with you. You live in a fantasy land.
Thanks for illustrating my point beautifully.
[/quote]

The only thing you've illustrated is your inability to discuss economics without age-old black and white liberal stereotypes.

17% of $2,000,000 is nothing when you compare it to 17% of $20,000. That's theft.

Hm, are saying that 17% of 20k is a higher rate than 17% of 2m? Because that's not how math works, unless you live in magic liberal world with magic economies
%17 of 20,000 is 3,400. 17% of 2,000,000 is 340,000.

This leaves 1,660,000 for the rich guy and 16,600 for the poor guy. Seem fair to you?

Yes. It would be unfair to tax people different rates. Plus, people on 20k salaries don't stay there for too long, because nobody makes it a plan to live on a 20k salary. The people who get stuck there are typically incompetent.

No, it's called affordable. Sorry that poor idiots can't delegate their spending. Maybe they should be taxed into poverty if they're so stupid as to go bankrupt because of a little taxation.

A flat tax would be best, it's not right to steal more money from the rich because they're successful. Progressive tax = theft

But don't insult the dead. Don't insult the other people who've gone through something like this or continue to go through something like this. You know, the entire reason I decided to make this was because I ran odds in my head.

One day somebody else here might have to go through with this. It would be good, if they had a general idea of what they were getting into.

Or even, an understanding so that if they ever deal with somebody going through something like this they can show a little more sympathy.

I'm not insulting the dead, don't worry. But maybe you'd be interested in one of my posts on cancer then: http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=33960.0

What does it have to be to be considered fucked up? We had a couple tragic accidents that happened near my house, one was a ten car wreck with 3 fatalities, and another was a Eucalyptus tree falling on a lady while she was driving, killing her. Oh and five teenagers speeding on a busy road near Pacific Coast Highway who crashed and they all died. I think the car was torn in two.

Never said anything about going to war, I only said there should be no deal with our enemies.
Okay, I guess it'd be a better idea to have them as enemies until the end of time. Cause that'd be good for us and the world, right?

Quote
The 1938 Conference should stand as a warning about these sort of things, but nah let's not learn from history.
Where is the chunk of land we're donating to Iran in the hope that they stop nuclear weapon production? You clearly didn't read the contents of the deal. They greatly reduce their nuclear for a partial reduction in sanctions. This isn't appeasement by a longshot.

Maybe you should learn your history instead.

Quote
Let's instead bend over for a nation who wants to see us wiped from the face of the Earth.
There's no bending over going on. But I guess you don't even have the patience to even read the OP before spewing partisan crap all over the thread.

So we should just suddenly call them our friends and hope they don't attempt to attack us, right? Because you would totally just start trusting some dude who hates you and constantly says he wants to kill you, right?

I never said anything about a chunk of land and wasn't comparing the details of the two deals you dipshit. We are appeasing to them because do you honestly believe they'll reduce themselves after they've lied in the past? Ignorance is bliss though, I guess just hoping for a better world will make one.

I read the OP you tard, but you seem upset that I'm making very valid points on trust. This is a bad deal no matter how you try to liberally spin it. Sure, let's just call Iran our friends now. They don't totally want us dead or anything. Nah, that's just bluff talk.

" We, the German Fuhrer and Chancellor, and the British Prime Minister, have had a further meeting today and are agreed in recognizing that the question of Anglo-German relations is of the first importance for our two countries and for Europe.

We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again.

We are resolved that the method of consultation shall be the method adopted to deal with any other questions that may concern our two countries, and we are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible sources of difference, and thus to contribute to assure the peace of Europe.

My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honor. I believe it is "peace for our time." Go home and get a nice quiet sleep. "

It's all rhetoric to appease their population. Just like the anti-Zionist shtick they have. I doubt that the Mullahs themselves actually believe what they're saying to that extent.

The 'Resistance card' can be very effective if played right, and that's what they're doing.

LOL oh it's just to appease the populace? Don't be absurd, Iran is our sworn enemy, they've been chanting for the deaths of America and Israel for years. We shouldn't strike a deal with our enemies, nor trust them, they're far from trustworthy. Unless all that fancy and fun propaganda Iran shows depicting the destruction of the US and Statue of Liberty was just for the hell of it.
It is. If they were serious about the extremity of what they say, they wouldn't even have negotiated with the US in the first place.

Right, just like the Munich Conference of 1938. Whoops.
You seem to think that any form of negotiation with an adversary is like the Munich Conference. I guess it'd be a better idea to go to war then.

Never said anything about going to war, I only said there should be no deal with our enemies. The 1938 Conference should stand as a warning about these sort of things, but nah let's not learn from history. Let's instead bend over for a nation who wants to see us wiped from the face of the Earth.

In short, you're retarded.

Just so you know while that was going on Chamberlain had started work on creating an army. So he was comfortably aware of what was going on.

Also Nuclear will never be used by Iran as a weapon and even if they tried they will have at minimum a year to produce one at any of their facilities. Remember all facilities are being monitored and only one of them can enrich anything at this moment. Also within the year that they try to produce one, well they will be stopped quite easily as plans of their facilities will be easily available with the numerous visits. Creation of any new sites will also be easily noticed.

So in the end Iran is not like Germany 1939. They have no hope and the longer the peace occurs the more power that is removed from the theocracy. It is slow but people can already notice the changes occurring in the Iranian regime with new governments new laws slowly by slowly being adopted.

Right, because having visitors will really stop them from their goals. Goddamn, I can't believe the ignorance I'm hearing, you guys would trust a sociopath and turn your back on them willingly, only to stabbed and act surprised. If Chamberlain was truly aware of what was happening, he would have sought to stop the German encroachment, but he didn't. Instead he gave people a false hope and when war came they got their asses kicked all the way back to Dunkirk and back across the channel. Man his plan really worked, didn't it?

We're giving Iran too much trust when they should receive none at all.
