The Flood / Re: Space Marine VS Spartan

A Space Marine would win, no contest. They're pretty much like a Spartan but a hundred times better in every aspect.

For example, Space Marine augmentations -

Your puny little Spartans are fucked. They're on the right course to becoming Space Marines, but not there yet.

I can look on the bright side of things at least.

Halo still asstomps anything in the MEverse.

The Reapers would ROFLstomp Halo

Personally, I'm loving Stone's Thunderstruck IPA. I dare say it's better than Ballast Point's Sculpin.

Wow, and here I thought you were gonna' have total beta cuck shit taste in beers. Both of those are amongst my favorites.

Right now I enjoy Not Your Father's Root Beer. An excellent beer, would recommend if you're a fan of root beer

Not your fathers root beer is gross man. Way to much vanilla.

You're LC, I can literally disregard your opinion

>Hurrrrrrrrr mass shootings are unpreventable huRRRRR
12 reported cases. 12 whole cases in almost 20 years. The US is currently experiencing a historically low rate of mass shootings, sitting at an average of over 300 mass shootings every single year. Extrapolating this, one can assume that there have been about 6,000 mass shootings commited over the past 20 years, and this is an extremely conservative estimate.

Your gun laws help in some cases. Defensive gun use takes place, occasionally. But generally speaking and taking everything in consideration, they do more harm than good. Because for every single one of these instances where a good guy stands up and prevents a mass (school) shooting, there's dozens if not hundreds of incidents every single year where your easy and semi-unfethered access to guns both directly and indirectly leads to such a shooting taking place or in the very least facilitates it tremendously.

There's more cases, just because I linked only 12 doesn't mean that's it. There's hundreds of cases every year, as a matter of fact.

once every couple years or so
fucking lol, i guess everything is sorted then

These are seriously under reported, and there's many more. Hundreds, in fact. Hundreds of would-be shootings stopped by legally carrying citizens go unreported by the media because they have an anti-gun agenda they want to push. There was a site with all of the incidents, but it's hard to find.

I have done very little thinking into the issue of gun control, for some reason. That being said, it seems very obvious to me that guns should not be publicly available under any circumstances. I can't really think of a good reason to have a gun.

Somebody critique me.
Personal liberty and home security

Personal liberty is the worst reason.
To you, some people actually still value the concept of personal liberties

"Personal liberty" honestly sounds like a reason people give when there is nothing else for them to use.

"Why should we make heroin use legal? Personal Liberty!"
Yeah someone should be able to do whatever they want as long as its not infringing upon another's rights. Really don't see what's hard to understand about that. What gives you the right to tell someone to not use heroin?

The fact that I'll likely end up paying for his medical issues stemming from heroin use, his time in jail from heroin use, or the fact that it's absolutely moronic and does little to help him without issues he actually is having.

There's no way for you to ever know if you'd actually pay for his medical issues (you won't), his time in jail (why would he be in jail if it's legal?), and whether or not it solves his issues is none of your business. I mean, for all intents and purposes, if he uses it responsibly, there's no problem whatsoever. An experiment was run in Canada in a city where people with serious drug addictions were allowed to come into a medical clinic and were offered clean needles, a clean and safe environment monitored by medical personnel to shoot up and do what hard drugs they had. It actually made a DRASTIC difference, rather than persecuting them.

The Flood / Re: What's the worst thing you've ever done?
« on: October 03, 2015, 03:36:43 AM »
I dunno if it was the worst. But hell if I remember it all at this point anyway. But I know that it makes me feel the worst. Last year, when the docs gave me the cheery announcement about my poor odds of survival if I did nothing and the poor odds I had of taking chemo well with my current body strain, I went quiet for a few weeks.

Spoiler
I made a list of people I knew, and I made an effort to track them down to apologize for the hard times I may have given them when I was younger. Long story short, I remembered this one kid, who was a total asshole. Not somebody I wanted to apologize to, but since I was thinking off childhood acquaintences, I thought about him.

So, I tracked him down too. My original plan was to have a talk with him.

And after all those years, when I saw his face, and how much he hadn't changed, how much of an arrogant slimeball of a human being he was that showed on his expression, I did none of that. I guess that was where I broke.

He came walking up, and out of nowhere I grabbed his head and smashed it down hard against the side of my truck. I didn't even let him get up before I started kicking the shit out of him.

After that, I calmly explained why. And I told him if I ever saw him again, I'd do it again. I'm not one for violence. And I regreted it afterwards for days. Despite the fact that this guy was truly an asshole, I played the thing over in my head for days. It scared me how easy it was to do it. It's made me exceptionally cautious of my temper since then.

You should be in jail

A somewhat casual week. I just got off work a little over an hour ago. My last patient was talking about how she was going to call the police and her lawyers on me and my partner and take us to court because we were transporting her. I wrote what should be a hopefully thorough enough PCR narrative in case that happens.
