My belief is that it's the same thing as we find here with anti feminist posts. It comes down to entitlement. The current generation truly believes it is entitled to sex. It's seems like in the UK you're presented with a TON of information and they want you to be able to effectively use/ know most of it, where in the US were given significantly less information, and more chances to earn points but are expected to know almost all of it.

I believe you completely!I'm just saying the article is pretty terrible First of all comparing a single school to in the US to a single school in the UK is pretty stupid in the first place. There's thousands of colleges in the US and hundreds in the UK. Not all of them will provide the same experience. Second of all, he's comparing his experience with an undergraduate in an "easy" major to an experience getting his masters in a different field. Doesn't really make much sense. He also assumes all colleges (and all professors) behave the same way his proffesors do. For example very very few of my classes have had quizzes and daily work. I'm assuming he was in small journalism classes but when your in a lecture hall of 300+ doing analytical chemistry the teacher isn't going to give quizzes. Usually (at my school) you'll have a midterm, a final, and use an electronic clicker to participate in lectures but this is usually only worth 5-10%. Other class I've had had a few exams and a grade for accuracy of your lab work. He also says proffesors here have an incentive to help you when they don't, unless they break the law it's borderline impossible to fire a Proffesor or a teacher in the US. Most of them are there to do their own research and only teach because they have to I'm not argueing that the us is just as hard as the uk or vice verse but that article sucked

I think the problem is that we associate racism with evil so much to a point where we tend to shy away from our own racist tendencies, no matter how benign--because we don't want to associate ourselves with evil or stupidity. I'm not trying to definitively say that it makes you racist--I'm just trying to play around with the idea.
I think it's more of an issue that you find certain physical traits attractive (certain hair/hair color, mouth shape, nose shape, eye color, body type) where MOST black women tend to not have those specific features. Wether you learned to like those features or wether you're biological hard wired who's to say. If you can honestly say you've NEVER seen a black woman that was attractive though yeah there's probably something more to it (cultural/family influence, personal bigotry ect)

I can only speak for my university and ones I know about but 90%-100% A- very good 80%-89% B- good 70%-79% C- satisfactory 60%-69% D - if it's a course in your field of study it's a fail, if it's an elective (taken just because you want to, you get credit) Anything less is failing outright

US also has extra credits where you can just get points towards a pass for going in to something extra or something This is extremely uncommon. In fact many universities ban it outright To pass here, some modules have criteria like you have to have an attendance of at least 80% many of my classes if I miss 3 days without a note from a doctor I fail. Several others have attendance as part of the grade have at least an attempt on every piece of coursework even if you do badly, and if you don't meet some of them they'll just fail you for the entire module which means you fail the year, and they're usually different for every module
if you don't attempt an assignment you would probably fail here just by not having the points from that assignment
