Some Redditor speculated that Jon's name is actually Jaehaerys Targaryen after watching the flashback scene a bunch of times. It seems baseless, but I'm sure Bran will tell him sometime in S7.

In the books it's mentioned that it's only garrisoned with 50 men. Plus I doubt the people had much love for Ramsey

After four hours of wiping and reaching the final set of fire balls only three times (despite now knowing the entire fight like the back of my hand), I have given up on Nidhogg Ex for the same reason I gave up on Thordan Ex: People suck. The very last group I got we only had 19 minutes left and we're all like "One more pull! Let's make this count!" and the damn tank pulls in Sword Oath, we all wipe in 45 seconds. Then we just stood there in silence.

In the books there's a character named Coldhands that a lot of fans think is Benjen Stark, but GRRM told his editor that it's not. Yet in the show Coldhands is Benjen.
George hasn't been involved in the series the past two seasons and there's been a lot of significant changes since then. I could easily see them changing this.
combining relatively minor characters for the tv show isn't comparable to changing the protagonists parents (one of the biggest mysteries of the series)
Like jorah and Jon connington being basically combined into one. It's just so they don't have to hire as many actors and so the viewers don't get confused by so many characters
It's hard to rationalize what they would and wouldn't be willing to change from the books at this point. One would think they wouldn't omit important POV characters like Arianne and Victarion in an adaptation and yet they did.
