well why is it a bad idea? It would organize the threads and reduce the amount of scrolling you'd have to do through threads.
people just like b.old's style more
that was the whole reason behind having offsites like this
because we hated bnet's update so much
so, it would be silly to make ourselves look more like bnet why not just go back to bnet at that point?
Well that's just not being like b.net for the sake of not being like b.net. I don't know how anyone can support having pages of quotes of a conversation between two people over having the thread organised nicely and being easy to read. Everyone always harps on about how this place is an entirely different site to bungie.net. Why not let it be its own site then? i.e NOT being deliberately like or unlike bungie.net.
It's not like B.old for the sake of it. People don't want sub-threads because they don't like it on B.new.
Not a hard concept to grasp.
I was responding to Verb, who was clearly saying "no, because that would make us be like bungie.net". And I already expressed my confusion as to why someone wouldn't like subthreads. "Because they don't like it" doesn't clear anything up.
People not wanting it because they don't like it is a perfectly viable reason to not have it.
no it's not actually. A lot of things happen for the greater good whether people like it or not.
That would imply subthreads are "the greater good".
they are compared to the cluster fuck of a system we've got now.

Ummmm why not remove the power cord and battery? I could literally take the lock and safety lock off and pull out battery in 3 seconds.
It seems as though you've had to do this before. Or extremely prepared.
yeah I'm a crafty bitch. I take my privacy seriously. It's not my parents business to know what their 19 year old daughter does. Prying or straight out violating my privacy is srsly just going to destroy our trust and our relationship. I know they don't respect my privacy anyway so I'll just make sure it doesn't get to that point.
I know that feeling. I'm an only child and they were on top of me constantly (don't be a prude)
Trying to keep my web identity hidden from them was a chore. They couldn't monitor from another computer because they were pretty much internet illiterate, but they would access my computer when I wasn't home and made me give my passwords up "or else no internet".
Obviously I didn't want them to read my 13 year old fagfanfiction. So I managed to break my laptop to where everything was only accessible through the task manager.
Problem solved.
lol. Sounds like my parents. Except my dad know how to use computers a bit more. There's some friction between us about the whole internet thing. But fuck I'm 19 and I'll be damned before another adult comes along and tells me what I can or can't do online. I'm so done with them.
Well that's never fun that's why I moved out lol
lucky you
You'll get there too. I'm also 23 lol

Shit I'm vitamin D deficient and Calcium deficient. Am I going to end up like you? I've had lots of vitamin D since I've been out every day in Florida but calcium is a problem still.
Depends, if you end up not being able to walk outside for the best part of two years you might end up like me <.<
If you get some sun every day and drink a glass of milk, that should keep you fine. I was under the 'doctor going "bloooooody hell" tier' compared to most who have a minor deficiency >.> So you'd have to be really buggered to end up half crippled like past-me lol.
Did you never go outside or something?
Pretty much
Two badly ingrown toenails = blood whenever I walked, add depression/anxiety to that and it's easy enough to see why I sat inside and rotted away for a while. Got it all sorted now, hence I'm no longer a degenerating miserable old man at the age of 19. Lol.
youre 19? You sound so much older than me. If never guess you'd have been my age.
Almost 20, just two months away but yeah >.>
wow I'd have thought you were like 23-24 or something. You're too mature for a teen.
Welp I had to grow up quite early so that might be why, but hey a miserable childhood prepares you better for the real world than a blissful and sheltered one would. I should probably thank mummy dearest for this someday lol.
my parents sheltered me. I can't say I'd thank them for it. What's the point of shielding them from the ugly things in life? So that they go in blind by themselves when they're older?

it doesn't take a genius to come up with an answer like that. I think it's only really an intelligent answer if you're ignoring the whole point that you have eternity verses 80 years on earth. Couldn't someone say that great things do come out of suffering? If hypothetically, someone were to suffer horribly but still display tremendous faith in God, it would inspire others to follow God. In the past that's brought thousands to Christianity. When people see hope and life in the face of death and suffering it tends to bring people to God. Well then you might say, "omg gods a cunt. He curses people as a small price to bring others to him". A according to the old book, humanity cursed itself so really he's just putting us in the right places to make the best out of it. Also when you put it in perspective 80 years of occasional discomfort vs an eternity of hell or heaven depending on what we want, his answer seems childish in my opinion. Kinda what I'm thinking when people say what the dude in the video says.
we live, we suffer, and we die, and the universe wont bat an eye. there is no positive egalitarian treatment from god.
we all suffer, and thats the only gift he gives to all people.
This literally makes no sense. You basically implied there isn't a god and then went on to say that all God does is give people pain.
This flawed thinking and you're speaking with your emotions. So is the guy in the video and so are a lot of the people in this thread. When you speak emotionally you come off sounding childish and no offence, whiny. Either there is no God and all of this happens because it just does. Or there is a God and there is suffering because of the benefits that come out of it. There will always be something good that comes out of suffering even if you don't see it. Always. Most people don't see it because they're too busy wallowing in their own sorrow. Pro tip, that's selfish behaviour so if you want to think like a Christian and understand why they think the way they do then you're going to have to look at things differently. If we stop focusing on ourselves then suffering takes on a different meaning. We can use our own suffering to reach out to others. It can be our motivation and drive to do good in this world.
of course there isnt a god. i was trying to make a point about the contradictory and illogical nature of the christian god
its contradictory and illogical if you approach it with the mind set of a non believer. But when your brain is in Christian mode, it makes perfect sense. That's why I don't take religious debates seriously. You can rationalize both sides and people do. So why even bother wasting your time on someone else? You'll just get frustrated and hate them more and I don't want that kind of bad energy.
I wouldn't say that being a Christian makes God make perfect sense. You're not supposed to understand him. That's why they say he works in "mysterious ways". Even if you disagree with his methods you're supposed to trust that whatever he does is for the better and will all pan out in a way that you cannot possibly understand. That's what being a Christian is all about. Our morals and logic wouldn't stand for much against a supreme being such as God, so acting like we are the moral authority compared to him wouldn't fare well for us when standing before him like the man in the video says he would. I for on prefer a batshit crazy God. It could be worse, but we don't know because we can't comprehend a drastically different creation.
true yeah. But I'm just saying if every thing always works for his glory then that means good comes out of the bad and suffering. I didn't come to that understanding by myself btw. I've heard what other holy people had to say on suffering and it makes sense you know. Personally I feel like religion and faith depends a lot on your out look in life. You have to be a hopeful and optimistic and trusting if it's going to work for you. If you're cynical and doubtful about it then it'll fail and you'll tell everyone else it doesn't work. It's the same principle for like everything else in life.

I would actually mention you're a mod for a popular website (NEVER MENTION THE ACTUAL PLACE THOUGH, FOR GOD'S SAKE!).
Shows, responsibility, able to talk to a variety of arseholes people and ability to diffuse somewhat tight situations.
E.g. Some crazy shopper verbally abusing you because of the price of Tetley Tea or something, when you have literally fuck-all to do with the pricing.
theyll probably ask for information on which site. That way they can check his activity and posts.
