Also couldn't we blend both genetics of the parent to make basically a perfect mix of both parents? It's not a clone but it's like a perfected version of conception I guess?

Just adding an incredibly obvious tangential thought here, but wouldn't that make natural birth obsolete? I mean, if we can produce genetically engineered humans that would be stronger, more resilient, and overall superior to people born the usual way, what would be the point of the genetically-random typical method (aside from pleasure or a 'moral'/theological/personal belief)?
there is no point. We'd have reaves the point in evolution where we evolve our selves and stop counting on nature to do it for us.
