Serious / Re: Let's be honest, humans are shit parents
« on: January 05, 2015, 02:17:59 PM »
i guess it really depends on the parent and the kid really. If the parent is a shit person and the kid has a tendency to do things just because someone close to them does it, then yeah it won't be good. Then there's also the type of parents that are pretty cool and nice, and there's kids that actually question something and think before they do it.

The way i'm raised my Mom is a good person but just like any human being she has her bad qualities, and she does expect me and my brother to be the type of kid that does what they're told and to not question it but we do, which usually will get a kid in trouble. Also with that scene about smoking, that doesn't always happen. My mom smokes a lot and rarely drinks (very rarely) and i have no intention to do either mostly due to medical conditions but still you get the point. But then there's my brother who smokes and drinks a lot, but that may also be because he's at that age.

TL;DR it really depends on the people.

Hm? I'm just asking a educational question for those familiar with engineering and aero dynamics
if that's the real reason you're not very smart because I'm pretty sure everyone learned this stuff in 5th grade.

The Flood / Re: Its my birthday today
« on: January 05, 2015, 12:27:18 PM »

you're fucking 34?

I knew you were an adult but i thought maybe 25 or some shit.

Happy birthday nonetheless, I still think you're a cool guy and all. hell you're the one that made one of my favorite B.net groups (even though you banned yourself some how and it put me as the leader..) i think you're a good guy and I hope you have a good day.
34 isn't that old. But thanks.
Sorry, i'm just surprised.

The Flood / Re: Complete bullshit
« on: January 05, 2015, 12:26:18 PM »
Entire? I doubt it, but it's not uncommon for kids to try to pass off entire sections/pages of plagiarized material. Take it to the administration if you feel like it's truly unfair. Hope you're not trying to bullshit them, though.

Not sure how your teacher is proving it if you didn't do it on a computer.
yeah I've talken to some other people about it and I'm just waiting for a response at this point, hopefully i don't have to re-write it but I'm prepared in case i do.
The only plaigarism programs I know of only handle typed papers. How did your teacher check your hand-written paper?
Well for how I turned it in i had to fax it over, so there's that.

The Flood / Re: The ocean is a terrifying place
« on: January 05, 2015, 12:23:51 PM »
Not anymore dangerous or terrifying than the rest of the world.
I guess it depends on the person.

For me i would prefer going through a jungle of poisonous snakes then being in a submarine in pitch black water.

At least some snakes give you a warning like rattlers.

There's nothing you can fucking do when you hear the cracking of glass in your sub's window or something fucks up and you're left floating down there.
yeah the whole pressure thing is scary. even if the submarine is okay, if you were outside of it:
Quote
The water pressure is very high. The pressure from the water would push in on the person’s body, causing any space that’s filled with air to collapse. (The air would be compressed.) So, the lungs would collapse. At the same time, the pressure from the water would push water into the mouth, filling the lungs back up again with water instead of air. But if there’s no air-filled space to be pushed into, the body would not be crushed. (Part of the problem with the old pressure suits that deep-sea divers used to use was that if they depressurized, the soft part of the suit and the entire body would be crushed into the rigid helmet. This is one of the big reasons that divers don’t use suits like this anymore.)

(4) At high pressures, the chemistry of how the body works changes. If the person did have some way of getting air into their system, their body would immediately undergo what’s called "nitrogen narcosis." This happens because at high pressures, nitrogen is much more soluble in water (or blood) than oxygen is. And especially since air is mostly nitrogen, the blood would become full of dissolved nitrogen. The nitrogen would bind to the parts of the body that need to use oxygen, and the person would literally suffocate from the inside out.
Do. Not. Want.
