I find the whole antartic aztec temple thing rather dumb. I would've prefered it to be located in the Yutacan peninsula or the Amazon.

It helps the movie maintain the theme of isolation, though. I would be much less concerned about an expedition to a jungle or island with help close by, than an expedition to bumfuck-nowhere-Antarctica. Yeah it's pretty silly and inexplicable, but I think the setting does more good than harm.
it really doesnt, we are constantly told that the Predators prefer warm climates through two movies. it doesnt make sense. and a jungle expedition would've been amazing considering its the Predator's bread and butter and the fact that seeing Aliens jump from tree to tree attacking MARINES would've also been pretty rad
To be fair, there are ways to justify and explain it. Kinda. Based on my admittedly limited knowledge of the series, I remember the Predators came there for a trial and challenge. It would make sense for them to do this in a climate they do poorly in to test and hone their skills further. Or because the temple is so deep under the ice, you could argue that it was built back when Antarctica wasn't all that cold yet (even though that isn't entirely scientifically accurate because you'd need to go back further than human origins to have it be tropical temperatures, and it wouldn't just be covered in ice like that). It's a bit silly, but I'm with Turkey. It's excusable in a movie about Aliens fighting Predators.
Eh, yeah. I had a lot of problems with the movies myself but I guess that Antarctic temple thing is the least of the movie's issues.

goku held back a lot

17 got a power boost to become relevant

end of story

ssb is incapable of being weaker than bog ssg. that means no matter how much he was holding back, 17 became quintillions of times stronger for no reason other than an asspull for relevancy.
let it go

yeah, it was fun

and at the end of the day, movies are just supposed to be fun
also, i have not seen AVP, and i'm being sarcastic, this is just a nerd crew reference

I got it. FYI they just did a new one for the new SW trailer.

Maybe the "fun" excuse doesn't hold water, but the complaint that every Alien film has to be artsy and deep is a bit conceited.
it really doesnt, we are constantly told that the Predators prefer warm climates through two movies. it doesnt make sense. and a jungle expedition would've been amazing considering its the Predator's bread and butter and the fact that seeing Aliens jump from tree to tree attacking MARINES would've also been pretty rad
Maybe, but they'd still have to nuke the area and that leads to all sorts of other issues, unless it's an isolated island somewhere. Xenomorphs can breed in ostensibly any mammal or large animal, so they probably wouldn't care about the humans and would just grab every nearby animal they could get. The aliens are really only an effective monster in dark, enclosed areas.
a fictional tropical island nation like a cuba-expy would've worked now that i think about it

Its basically Marvel's cartoon movie Planet Hulk but now Hulk is the "final boss" in the colosseum and Beta Ray Bill is exchanged for Thor
except that movie was actually a hulk movie lmao and possibly better

Except Beta Ray Bill wasn't in the comic
So? Beta Ray Bill was great still.

Honestly I don't see the movie to be about bad guys or villains, but clash of philosophies.

This. Watchmen is a commentary on the simplistic morality of the Silver Age, where there's good and bad and nothing in between, by presenting a morally gray situation with no clear right or wrong. Trying to finger any one character as the villain is missing the point.

>the movie though
the movie was ok

Doesn't measure up to the comic though.
Never said it did.
