I mean, it would be pretty annoying if I came to your MGS thread and said Metal Gear Solid was an okay game and everything else after it went downhill after it

Well, that's your prerogative. And that's an even less apt comparison than you may think, considering my opinion aligns closely with Verbatim's, and isn't that out-of-place.

Quote
and began to put Halo on a pedestal as if it were the Super Kami Pope Prime....Guru.

Well at that point I wouldn't take you seriously, anyways.
Except that Verbatim's rating is completely right by today's standards.

But you just implied that in this thread. You just told Verb to not give the next Halos a try because you believe they are worse, which Verb doesn't know because he has never really given the campaigns a chance before and then told him to try the "better game".

Lovely thing about opinions is that one is not always right.

Let's not argue over it.

Exactly. Thank you.

I didn't even insinuate that "MGS>Halo" in my OP. People just got butthurt that I said Halo sucks.

I see you are just in time to throw mud on Halo and shine Big Boss's muddy combat boots.

If that's how you wanna take it, sure.

Unfortunately the series doesn't really get any better from here on out.

Expectation spoilers for all the future games
Halo 2 ends too abruptly for it to be any better than CE, and what's there isn't all that great to begin with. 3 sucks, Reach sucks, and 4, on its own, sucks. I haven't played ODST. Speaking strictly about the campaigns, here.

Still hoping that you'll get around to playing MGS1/3 soon. Preferably 3, it's the best one.

Nice work with the review.

the Flood's reveal was masterful in building tension.
...You think so? I mean, sure, I liked the level, but I can't say I really caught on to any of the "horror" aspects you seem to be highlighting. The Flood wasn't scary at all, and the tension just wasn't there for me. To be completely honest, I thought their way of revealing the Flood to be disappointingly cheesy and comical. Like, bad '50s horror film cheesy. As MC was watching that long-ass recording, the Flood literally could have attacked him at any moment, right? So it was just like... All right...

Then again, I knew about the Flood long before I played the game, too. I'm assuming you played the game when it was still new, and the Flood wasn't as well-known. Perhaps that would contribute to it.
I think you could figure out what happened just by looking at your surroundings...like the dead marines and pools of blood and dropped weapons and the fleeing Covenant and the lack of Elites and the crashed Pelican and Spirit dropships and the creepy music and the signs of battle and yeah.

Why do you want to join the military? Like for reals. Ask yourself first because that's a pretty big decision.

-Military is something I'm really interested in in general. Computers is my only really useful skill. Could do both.
-Don't know if I want to go to university. The more I hear about it, the less I want to. This is a pretty large factor for me, too.
Hm.

Alright, sounds you kinda know what to do.

While I love Halo, I have to agree that Halo 1 had the weakest story of them all. Its simplistic to a fault, but that's why most people like it. But nonetheless, Halo 2's story and gameplay blows Halo 1's out the water.

Great review and I hope you get to experience Halo 2,3 and 4 which are superior, obviously.

I'm basically a pescetarian haha (I'm not against eating other kinds of meat but fish is the only one I really eat more than once in a blue moon >.>)

Although, honestly I'd probably take the food, at least while you're in the situation you're in

>.< I'm trying to tell myself "it's white meat" so it's not as bad.
Chicken is the least damaging mainstream meat you can eat besides fish.

This is true. I originally swore it off because chicken is pumped full with hormones and chemicals, and they live terrible lives imo.
In the context you are putting, that is irrelevant. Unless you can afford some vegetables and fruits.

Oh yeah I know it's irrelevant because I will be eating it, but luckily frozen veggies are cheap, and they gave us freshly canned greens in mason jars! >.< I am so grateful, I hate bitching, but this conflict was getting to me. I needed to get it off my chest, and I know a lot of members don't eat meat either.
Also, canned foods are great for this. Get some beans :3

Heh yeah luckily I have a stock pile of canned beans.
;)
