Diplomat Sobotka and his guards have completed the journey to Iceland and are awaiting permission to enter the capital city of Reykjavik. However the guards are very weary of their guard duty as Sobotka has been highly unprofessional, seems unqualified for the job, and smells of alcohol. They question his representing the great Czech Republic as a good decision however they will stay loyal to the PM's order to protect him.
The Czech guards have noticed movement from the Slovak army on the border.

The Head Guard (Gabkis Villek) for the Diplomatic mission to Iceland (as commissioned by PM Jagr) saw the palace they would be entering and instantly wished to be back in the homeland. It was bigger, brighter and more grandiose then he could have imagined. The busts of what must have been ancient warriors adorned the halls almost acting as a spiritual guard unit. Of course those palled in comparison to the living, breathing Diamondback unit that stood at attention next to the Queen herself.
Gabkis cringed at the thought of Sobotka even saying a couple words to these high class people. Secretly among a couple of the other guards they plotted to murder the Diplomat on the journey to Iceland as he was disgusted with the way he presented himself. They ultimately decided against it as it would essentially be treason against the leaders of the Republic.
He cringed once more as he heard the Diplomat open his mouth and say the words; "Wait... you're the leader here?"
Silence fell upon the throne room. The young Empress, immediately frowned at the diplomat's words. Klein's jaw dropped and quickly ran out of the room. Right after he left, as if being in some sort of hive mind, 30 guards entered the room surrounding the Czech guards. The two Diamondback Elites stepped in front of the diplomat, their silver armors reflecting his face, he looked up and saw that the helmet they wore covered the entirety of their faces only being able to see red eyes in shadow. Although ceremonial in look, the armor was invincible to bladed weapons and some projectiles. Muskets were pointed at the Czechs.
"Excuse me, what did you say?" The Empress spoke. The Icelandic Prime Minister stepped away and sat on a nearby chair and table. There was some tea pots there, he cheerfully served himself some tea.
The veteran Czech guard knew this would happen. Gabkis knew it the second he heard this sorry excuse for a diplomat was their representative. Why on earth would PM Jagr choose him out of everyone that could be sent? Regardless, he stood alert as the Czech group was swarmed by guards. He knew his plan after being through numerous missions gone bad, surrender and live to fight another day. He knew 2 of his friends would follow suit. Unfortunately Villek had not discussed what to do if they were instantly surrounded by the enemy with the rest of the guard unit. The following sentence from Sobotka could be classified as the single worst diplomatic sentence he'd ever heard, even after being through the Czech - Slovak Civil War this was awful.
"Is this some kind of day car-..." Sobotka didn't get to finish.
Sobotka was struck in the gut by a Diamondback, shutting him up and making him vomit on the royal floor. Empress Schnee cringed. "End their lives." The other Diamondback Elite ordered. Before they knew it, the Czechs were attacked by the royal guards, they fought back but they were cut down swiftly. Unprepared for such ferocity...such barbarity. "Stop." The guards stopped with their massacre, leaving only Villek and two of his buddies alive. The Empress knew mercy? "You two, men, return to your homeland." She said. Villek was astounded, but he stood up, he looked at his hands covered in the blood of his friends. "Return...? And what should we..." He tried to say. "Oh, and before you go...I will need you to be witness to our message." A message? He looked at Sobotka, he still lived. "Do you know what's a blood eagle?" Empress Schnee asked. Villek shook his head. Weiss smirked. Sobotka was brutally and inhumanely executed that night. The Czech knew what to expect from the Northerners.

The vessels land on the northern coast of Norway, and the troops deploy. Icelandic soldiers raid and pillage every single village they encounter, forcing the local earls to their knees and swear loyalty to the Empress back on the "Motherland" as each soldier was now referring Iceland as. To the towns that did not yield to red march of the Icelandic horde, they suffered a massacre that the world hadn't seen in ages. Whole towns were decimated, and its defenders burned to a crisp. Oslo was soon on their sights.
