Hey guys, have you seen this new show? I like this show! It's fun and quirky while still being very intense in its characterizations and plotlines. I understand a show like this isn't for everyone, as it generally doesn't take itself very seriously, but I'm not ashamed for liking the things I like! Hope you can understand this sentiment, and maybe give this show a chance?

We've stopped at plenty of places, and in fact I had an excellent battered cod from Bob Evans tonight. I love the aesthetic of this restaurant, I won't lie. The drinks are even served out of mason jars. What about you? All-time favorite restaurant and the last one you visited? How was the experience there? Spoiler My favorite restaurant in general is Red Robin, probably. Sure it's not the best but it's very nostalgic for me.

Yikes! Harsh words but thanks for the feedback! It's because of a few things:
1) it's from A Series of Unfortunate Events, which upon thinking about it I have realized ranks as among the most "secondclass" properties out there, given your general tastes (the fact that it's a young adult series, especially). Not that the series is that bad, but again, it's a very secondclass property. Makes sense. Is something being a "secondclass property" a bad thing? I guess I didn't know, but then again I wasn't aware of the reality that MarKhan just pointed out, anyway. 2) you just posted multiple giant excerpts. It's cringy, especially since you're claiming that they're oh-so-profound. If you were going to discuss a particular character or aspect of the series, actually discuss it as opposed to just posting giant excerpts
Hmm, I see. I didn't know that quoting the works was cringy - I mean, if you want to show why you love something, isn't the best way to accomplish that by showing excerpts from that work? What is there to discuss if what I want to discuss is ignored and scorned? Should I have posted something beneath each quote saying "let's discuss what this quote means and the implications of it"? I thought that was implied. Regardless, the thread really wasn't about ASOUE in the first place - in the very thread, I asked people to post their favorite quotes from any literary work. So this criticism I really don't understand. I hope to do better in the future with my thread creation, so please stay posted! This thread itself may seem a bit self-aggrandizing, but believe me every bit of criticism helps.

 I was too liberal with who I gave my passwords to, and Oberon literally took over my server. It was only through shrewd negotiations over VC that I was able to get him to transfer power back to me peacefully. I changed all my passwords after that, and like -- that could've been the end for us if I didn't say the right things to him. He's not a bad person, and please forgive this cringy metaphor, but he's like a dragon. You can either try to slay him or reconcile with him and get him on your side. Everyone wanted me to just make a new server from scratch and say "fuck you Oberon", but I was more reasonable than that and all parties walked away with something good. You can never trust people on the internet, and this is a lesson for me to be so much more careful!

I understand that 100%. I personally don't have a problem with the word, but many of our members do. It would be hypocritical of me to ban slurs and not include retard on the list of slurs to be banned. I don't know why you can't grasp this - the word is a trigger for a lot of people (not me).
