Gets you all hyper and warm inside for the 'actual game'

then you get the actual game and.... well..

I'm still waiting for Metal Gear Solid 5 to come out, all I have so far was some leaked unfinished tech demo that accidentally got released.

Maybe somebody with enough resources will be able to mod a whole story in, like Skyrim modders do. Granted, Skyrim is a different beast entirely, but...one can hope.

We're crossing into overrated territory

YouTube

I shouldn't have to explain who this is if you've been around for the last 15 years.

Yeah, that's that Sora guy's theme, right? From Fire Emblem?

Ulysses, because of the interesting parallels to the Courier.

Richard Hawk, because he's absolutely batshit.

Skull Face, because his smooth, badass voice makes everything he says sound intimidating.

Alex Mercer, because he wasn't taking Heller's silly, overly-vulgar one-liners seriously.

Captain Walker, because his slow descent into insanity was extremely compelling and horrifically believable.

Undertale spoilers
The Fallen Child, because he/she refuses to let you get away with choosing the evil path even if you go back and do the good path again.

Wouldn't it be so fucked up if we had our senses after death somehow and we were stuck in a box in the dirt for eternity?

LOL

Don't cremate me! Don't cremate me!

If there's an afterlife, lovely, I'll continue to exist.

If there isn't, well, I guess I'm past caring by that point.

The heat death of the universe will come eventually.

On the bright side you won't live to see it.

Empathy is necessary for a productive society.
That's wrong though

Empathy in fact hinders society's progress.
If we felt nothing for each other, there would be no reason to do anything for each other.
There isn't a reason

Human nature is reason enough.

Usually I think up characters first, then picture scenes for them, then find some way to Frankenstein them together into something resembling a plot.

I fail to see a future for myself

This too. I have no skills to speak of, no job, just enough money to live on, I'm taking classes that won't add up to a worthwhile major, if I'm not traipsing through those classes I spend most of my time on my computer, I don't know what I'll do when I'm out of college and will likely end up broke and alone.

And the worst part is I realize the problem and am perfectly capable of fixing it, but I never do.

The monotony. It's bizarre in that I'm a habitual person but at the same time despise stagnation.

In House of Leaves, there's a long passage listing off all the things that aren't in the house, which basically tells the reader it doesn't resemble any known kind of architecture and makes no logical sense.

Then it ends the passage with "Picture that. In your dreams."

It's surreal as fuck if you read the whole thing.

"What's one thousand minus seven?"

"Nine hundred and ninety three..."

Crunch!

"Nine hundred and eighty six..."

Crunch!

The only upside to the game's lack of story that I can see is that it makes the game a good jumping on point for players new to the franchise.

Why would anyone want to start with MGSV and go backwards though

Some gamers don't care about series and just pick up whatever looks interesting. TPP is very accessible for those people since you don't have to keep track of two decades' worth of lore as you play.

Because sleep feels great.

Martian Manhunter is really underrated though.

He doesn't need to be tangling with supervillans to be a great character
I'm just saying he has done it before and it has come out satisfying

Anything you can recommend? Any Justice League stuff I've read focusing on Batman hasn't done him justice, at all.

Have you read Injustice?

The writing is horrendous.

Howe[v]er he has the brain power of a supernatural human, yet is not counted as superhuman.

It doesn't take much brainpower to know to bring a radion bullet to fight Darkseid.

But he is best when paired which other superheroes and he can play on that level

I don't really think he can play on that level, though. He has no business tangling with supervillains.

Why would he let little things like 'godlike powers' or 'planet-crushing strength' deter him?

this game is pure and innocent

Depends on what route you're on. It could either be an even quirkier EarthBound, or Spec Ops: The Line.
Yeah I was only kidding >.>

Game still gets freaky even in a neutral and pacifist playthrough

Nonsense. Homicidal flowers, incestuous feelings for your new mother figure, and commentary on the very nature of consequence are fun for the whole family.
