Early Tool is more akin to Grunge.

I don't care what YOU think because the MAJORITY thinks you are wrong.
the majority of people are religious
arguments from majority mean nothing to me, and i refuse to blindly follow majority
That's not the same thing. Religion is a belief. Beliefs can be right or wrong, it's just not certain. This is more of concepts of classifying music which is totally different. If everyone starting calling all Metal Country, and all Country Metal, the definitions of the two genres would change to fit the music. There are certain things that are defined by majority rule. Music classification is one of them.

Not particularly liking Metal does not mean I don't know what metal is either way.
you should still be able to give me ONE name, if you know what it is
Iron Maiden is pretty standard Metal.

And I don't really listen to Metal, not like on purpose. I just don't really know any bands I really like that are metal.
...

and that make you an authority on what metal is.

i am so glad that i wasted my time with you
>Implying I am the only one in the world who said Tool wasn't Metal.

i am curious, though

if tool isn't metal, what the fuck is?
Just progressive rock.
learn how to read, please

if tool isn't metal

then what bands are considered metal
i guarantee, they'll sound similar in some remote way to tool
Oh, yeah, I read that wrong. My mistake. Only had an hour of sleep. And I don't really listen to Metal, not like on purpose. I just don't really know any bands I really like that are metal.

even if i cared about genres,
Well, sadly to say the world doesn't revolve around what you give a shit about. This is literally Dark Souls again.

I don't think in genres. Because I think that's fucking idiotic.

Music is music. I don't care WHAT it is, as long as it sounds good.

Genre's should not affect what you like, but are a great way to sorta make guesses as to what you would like or wouldn't.
"Genres shouldn't affect what you like, but they should affect what you like."

k
Okay, I guess I should elaborate. You shouldn't just not like something because of a genre it is, but genres can help you make educated guesses about what you could like.

But go ahead, be a nigger.

The Flood / Re: For the ones here who listen to Tool

Nope.
Lol, but seriously. There are metal heads who won't listen to anything nonmetal and act superior to everyone for it, and then there are the people who want to do it, but can't really seem to like anything metal, but still act like assholes. Do genre's matter? No, not really. But even this thread was started to get hur dur metal heads from it.

And also, genre classification is actually important, and if you don't think it is then stop listening to music. Genre's should not affect what you like, but are a great way to sorta make guesses as to what you would like or wouldn't.

Lastly, I only denied Tool was metal, and never said it wasn't progressive, so it it should have just been inferred progressive rock.

The only people who call it metal are innate morons who would try to classify anything as metal to seem like metal heads.
i mean goddammit, this line pissed me the fuck off

No, I really don't think that's what anyone is trying to do. Yeah, because so many people care to "seem like metalheads", enough to "mislabel" other bands to "SEEM" like metalheads. OOOH, the horror.

No, he probably just legitimately thought it was metal. To be honest, I thought it was metal too. To me, metal means... heavy guitars, abrasive sound, defiant lyrics, and intense, often shouted vocals. that sort of thing.

all of which tool has in a lot of their songs.

it's easy to confuse it with metal, and because of your sententious shitheadery, I just learned the news that, hey, Tool's not metal. Apparently. Because some guy on the Internet says so.

kk bud

maybe you'll realize that genres don't matter, at all

and i don't care to be called a "metalhead" either
Lelmad. Do you think NIN is metal too?

I've heard it said somewhere that Puscifer was a sort of 'fuck you' to all the really offensive-type dumbass metalheads who listen to maynard's other stuff.
Hmm, I haven't heard a song from then where that's what they're kind of saying, but I don't know, I still need to listen to more of them
It's a stylistic thing, to my mind. Can you imagine a really elitist metalhead enjoying anything about puscifer? It's nothing a tool fan would expect.
but Tool isn't Metal either.
Tool is categorized as progressive metal though, guess it doesn't really mean anything.
By what? Fucking Wikipedia? Guess what? Wikipedia is shit at Genre classifying. It's not metal. Tool even cringes as being called metal. The only people who call it metal are innate morons who would try to classify anything as metal to seem like metal heads.
Well shit man I didn't know, what genre would they be then? Progressive rock?
Yes.

Trent Reznor's only good NIN as a whole was With Teeth. He is more memorable as guests on other albums, like QotSA's Era Vulgaris and Kalopsia.

"Blue" is the best perfect circle song

The song 'The Package'... so much pain in that song for me.
like you both listed a song and neither of them were from Mer De Noms. You're both wrong. 3 Libras is the best.

Well, considering that I like listening to albums in full rather than individual songs, I would say most, if not all, albums from the bands I like.

Might as well make this entire place nothing but monitors. Heck, if Rocket and Sandtrap can become one anyone can.
Except you.

I'd be the best mod. I just don't want some kind of meaningless power.
No, you would just ban everyone that hurt your feelings till no one was left.

Quite the opposite. I'd never ban anyone unless they made threats.
Are you Deci or Camnator?

I remember when this site was pure and holy, and now Cheat is is destroying the very fabric of this site. I remember this site was founded on pure beliefs, and then he promotes a homosexual as a ninja. He has crossed the line. This must be dealt with.

A gay ninja will spread his infection and won't stop till all other ninjas are gay, and then he will proceed to make all members gay. It won't stop there though. Soon Cheat will require all future members of a god given site to be of homosexual origins.

When will it end?

Think of the children. Take a stand against this abomination.

I imagine, if anything, they'll hopefully continue some of the plots in Rebels.

If not, then shit.

Nah, rebels is shit, our last hope would be Episode 7, i fucking hope JJ Abrams knows what Star Wars is all about, if not then Star Wars is dead, and so is this generation.

Star Wars has generally been overrated anyway.

Said no one ever.
It is though.
