The way I see it, it was a playful jab--nothing to take seriously, let alone start petitions over and get outraged over. But it was a Nintendo 64 reference and everybody knows it. They wouldn't have rearranged the MIM-46's name in such a way--they probably wouldn't have rearranged it at all. It's not like military devices have copyright protection. i mean all they did was move the letter M one up in the alphabet and swap the 4 and the 6. in all likelihood it was just a acronym they took and slightly modified to create a weapon that looked like it would have come from a world similar to ours, albeit it in the future. any similarities to a 20 year old video game console are purely coincidental and i don't think anyone there really cares about taking pot shots at a console most people playing video games today have never even touched. i know i sure as hell wouldn't and i actually own one of those things. i really think this is just a case of nintendo fans being sensitive and creating conspiracy theories where none exist. 848

It was an amazing piece of american ingenuity and HOW DARE they EVER think that it's ANYTHING other than THE BEST piece of military hardware EVER. 851

I've spent a few hours with the game now and I feel like it's the best game to come out so far this year. I've found the gameplay to be really enjoyable and I like that it does a lot of things that I really haven't seen done in video games before. Some of which was shown off in the demo where the change of perspective will turn this 3d action rpg into a 2d side scroller or an isometric twin stick.
Boss fights have all been enjoyable so far as well and the OST has been pretty on point so far which adds immensely to the overall experience imo. this game does have a couple minor faults though a) the environment looks almost last gen which stands as a stark contrast to the highly detailed (and very good looking) models for the main characters. b) 9S, while generally helpful, can occasionally get in the way during boss fights with funky mechanics. i found myself smacking into him when trying to jump out of the way of something or getting caught up on him when trying to run away. c) while the OST has been pretty great for the most part the music for one of the towns is so god damn annoying that it makes me want to rip out my ear drums. this could probably be lessened by lowering the pitch to something below ear piercing levels. 859

the graphical jump from last gen to this gen was never going to be amazing. the real advancements have been in the size of the worlds, more realistic physics, and the amount of different things that can go on in these games at once on screen

i actually hated 2 and brotherhood but liked revelations and 3
mainly because it was nice to be able to play as master luke skywalker instead of yet again having to be farmboy luke and be a bumbling neophyte and colonial era US is a setting that's pretty much never used in video games it probably also helps that i paid less than $10 for the two of them 869
