And who claimed that it was going to be removed everywhere?
That was literally the impetus behind this line of conversation. The first thing that was said on the matter was Verbatim calling for the removal of religion from marriage entirely.
And I'm contesting Doors claim that all marriage is religious, verbatims claims have nothing to do with this line of conversation.
He didn't even say that though. . .
Religious folks will have religious marriages, secular folks will spend thousands of dollars on ceremonies they don't even really believe in. It's all marriage. Different groups just have different ceremonies. Like, what fucking thread are you even reading?
Taking religion out of marriage isn't something you can really do, fam.
The part I initially quoted and the part you conveniently cut out. What you quoted are supporting statements,
I think you're misunderstanding what I was saying.
You can have an irreligious marriage. That's been happening for years, nobody questions that.
What I was saying was that religion cannot be totally separated from the institution of marriage through policy or direct action. I was responding to Verbatim's post, which in the context of this thread made it sound almost like he wanted a policy or something separating religion from marriage (I doubt that is what he literally meant), which to me seemed like an absurd notion. That kind of change can only come from socio-cultural shifts.
Alright, sorry for the misunderstanding. I actually agree with you on this.

are not intrinsically linked
I never claimed they were intrinsically linked. My point is that you are never going to remove religion from marriage at the aggregate level totally. Even if the world is 100pc atheist, I'm fairly confident we'll still be having marriages in Anglican churches and shit.
And who claimed that it was going to be removed everywhere? I was stating that you can remove marriage from religion because you can. Not everybody who gets married has some sort of religious ceremony to go along with it or even does it in a church. So to claim that you can't take the religion out of marriage is extremely asinine.

When I said you can't separate marriage from religion, I meant literally YOU (the actor) can't take (via action) it out.
All I have to do is not have a religious ceremony and not do it in a house of worship and I've already done it.

So yeah, you can take the religion out of marriage.
So are we just going to pretend that the modern incarnation of marriage isn't totally different in a consequential way to what has come previously, and that religion absolutely is a massive part of the institution in its current form?
So are we just going to pretend that increasingly in the modern world religion hasn't become less and less important to people and deny that religion and marriage are not intrinsically linked therefore making the statement that you can't remove the religion from marriage unequivocally false?

Marriage predates our monotheistic religions and was originally a property transaction. So yeah, you can take the religion out of marriage.

Destiny 2 might actually have a chance at being decent-good. I don't think that Activision will try to play butcher twice in a row, or at least I hope they wont.
But hey it's Activision, maybe they'll do the same thing to Destiny 2 that they did to Destiny 1 anyway.

We also have two main story objectives.
We can either go to the coordinates located in Australia from one of the codex brains we looted or we can go to a processing plant in Africa.

Mission 18: UFO Salvage Almost immediately after our victory over the andromadons we received a report from our friends in the Eastern US precinct that they had managed to down a UFO. The salvage team consisted of Das, Bacon, Tru, Azure, Neko, and a rookie. The mission started off simple enough. The squad made their way to the downed ship killing the small pockets of Advent that had already arrived on their way. Once they made it inside the ship however things began to get hairy. Das, Tru, and Bacon were immediately set upon by two mutons and an Archon as soon as they entered the ship. After narrowly dodging a blast from one of the mutons pulse rifles Bacon made his way through the hole in the wall it left behind to shut down the now blaring distress beacon. This left Das and Tru to cover him. With some quick footing Tru was able to cut down the first muton with his sword before taking cover as Das fired his gattling mag cannon inches above his head. With the mutons down the archon came charging towards Tru with its pole arm ready to strike. Seeing this Das sprung into action and unleashed another hail of super heated lead into the creature and sending it down for the count. With the inhabitants dead and the distress beacon deactivated the squad relaxed a little thinking that they could catch a breather. As if sensing that they had let their guard down however another Archon sprang forth and launched missiles at them. Das and Tru ran back out of the ship and into the safety of the rest of the squad as they opened fire on it. Injured and in a frenzy it made a desperate charge towards Neko, Tru attempted to save the day with a quick over watch shot but failed miserably leading to Neko being impaled and left bleeding out and unconscious on the ground by the creature. Disappointed in Tru, Azure shook her head and pulled out her pistol to properly finish the mission. Mission ResultsAll enemies KIA Zero friendlies KIA One friendly in critical condition Lots of alien tech captured Mission success

Mission 17: Andromadons After resupplying at the home base we set off to go gather secure one of our surveillance devices in New Brazil that had been discovered by the enemy. The deployed team consisted of Ender, Tru, Azure, Irish, Big Boss, and Bacon. Almost immediately after touching down in the town the group was set upon by an andromadon and two advent. The team focused fire on this new foe and quickly took it and its friends down. Unfortunately this was not the end for this creature as even with it's occupant dead the suit fought on. It charged recklessly at Ender spewing acid from its now open cockpit until it was ultimately felled by Tru. With the first squad of enemies dead the the team split into two groups. Ender and Tru flanked through the graveyard while the rest of the squad set up inside the church. Once inside a firefight erupted between the main group and the enemies within. With their attention drawn away Ender and Tru were able to get the jump on them and quickly mop up the remaining forces. Mission ResultsAll enemies KIA Data secured Zero Friendlies KIA Mission success

Another quick update.
I'm in the middle of a city mission and I'm seeing the faces of Das, Bacon, Neko, and Ender plastered everywhere on big holo screens. They're apparently the most wanted people in XCOM.

Lagging behind on my updates cause i feel like playing and not writing.
Our first deaths are Kupo and Fruit. During our attack on the Chilean Blacksite Kupo was slaughtered by an Advent Sectopod and Fruit sacrificed herself to get Bacon and Fun Timer out alive.

It was just a shitty movie game. How do people find it hard?
It's either a game you love or you hate. Was pretty good for a movie game tbh.
By movie game standards it was average mate.

I use to swim and play soccer/football.
I've been meaning to get back into running or something though so I don't slip into fat or unhealthy territory.

Am I squad leader suddenly?
Normally you wouldn't be, but you were the highest ranking person of team 2.
