« on: August 13, 2016, 11:57:37 AM »Do you know of any good guides to catch up? As in detailed analysis of hero abilities / tactics and whatnotAfter putting around 150+ hours into Overwatch, I'll give you the rundown of every hero as best I can:
Genji is one of the strongest heroes in the game when played right. He can deflect nearly everyone's attacks, abilities and ultimates. I think the only attacks he can't deflect are Zarya's beam and Reinhardt's hammer swing. Genji's ultimate is insane also as it does around 150 hp damage per strike and it lasts 10 seconds. You can stop Genji mid-ult by stunning him with abilities like McCree's flashbang or Roadhog's hook. Genji players will like to sneak around and activate this while your team is not paying attention.
McCree is a strong hero as well. His Peacekeeper can be used as a sniper almost and can down 200 health heroes quick. When a McCree activates his ult, you'll see a red glow around him to indicate he's about to go high noon on your ass and this ult can nearly 1-shot everyone. You can block McCree's High Noon with Reinhardt's shield, Mei's icewall, and D.Va's defense matrix. As far as my knowing goes, Fan The Hammer isn't as common on PC as it is on console. Fan the Hammer devastates low health heroes in close range. McCree's weakness is his mobility. He has a roll but it has a high cooldown.
Pharah, my Egyptian Goddess, is one of the best heroes to take down Torbjorn turrets and set up Bastions. She can take them down in 2-3 shots from any range. As a Pharah player, the thing that I would consider her weakness are heroes who move really fast such as Tracer and Lucio cause her rockets travel slowly. Another weakness is her ult which leaves her vulnerable to a Roadhog hook or Ana sleep dart. Pharah's Barrage works well when you catch the enemy team off guard and syncs up greatly with Reinhardt's ult and Mei's ult. And a reminder, ALWAYS try to stay in high positions or in the air with Pharah. Try to spend as less time on the ground as you can. Also if you ever see a Reinhardt pushing with his shield up, fly up and hit the ground next to him with the concussive shot to push him away and let your teammates get a shot on him.
Reaper shreds tanks and low health heroes in close range with ease. When you kill somebody with Reaper, they leave a floating orb called a Soul and when you pick these up they will heal you 50hp for everyone you pick up so you don't always have to rely on health packs when playing as him. Reaper's Wraith Form makes you invulnerable so if a Tracer sticks you or McCree flashbangs you, activate this as quick as you can to get away. Reaper's teleport is a good way to get around the map and flank people. My favorite maps to play Reaper on are Numbani, Hollywood, and Route 66 cause there's so many ways to get around with Reaper. Death Blossom will fuck up everyone in a large radius, but try not to activate this in front of enemies cause they will end you. Here's a proper way to use Death Blossom.
Since you're loving Dad 76, I don't think I need to explain much to you about him. Just don't activate your Tac Visor on a D.Va cause her defense matrix will eat up all those bullets.
When playing Tracer, you constantly got to be moving and harassing the enemy and singling out healers like Ana, Mercy, and Zenyatta. Ask Septy for Tracer advice cause he's a really good Tracer. I'm still getting the hang of her.
For Hanzo, ask Comet for advice on how to play him. I haven't even touched Hanzo at all.
Torbjorn, despite all the hate from us console players, he's not that much of a nuisance on PC. If you play as him, try to put your turrets in elevated positions that overlook the objective. Torbjorn is a Defense-heavy hero and works best at Defense rather than Attack. When the objective is under attack and you have your ult, use it and your turret will get an insane health and damage buff for a short time and you will too. Keep in mind that you can only build 1 turret at a time. The icons you will see on your HUD are scrap and you collect scrap to give armor to your team. Armor gives you 75 extra hit points I think.
Junkrat is a piece of shit and too easy to play. All I gotta say.
Widowmaker for me is a love/hate relationship. I think her ult is one of the most underrated ones in the game as it highlights the enemies for you to see their every movement for a short time. Her sniper rifle when zoomed in can get critical shots on every hero. Each one has a different spot I think but I'm not too sure. Her trip mine will make short work of a wandering Tracer or other low health hero. If you ever hear French being spoken out loud that means a enemy Widowmaker just used her ult.
Mei is pretty insane and I think her and Reaper are the best ones to take down tanks. Her ice wall can block and absorb just about every attack and ability you can think of. The ice wall does not stop the payload either so don't waste your time with that. Mei basically has Armor Lock and will regen health and can't get hurt while in her ice block. Use the projectile attack from the freeze gun to finish off frozen opponents. Someone like Reaper can make short work of Mei as he can take her down in just a few shots and can Wraith Form away from the ice.
Bastion is really strong and like Torbjorn, works best on Defense rather than Attack. A Genji can deflect every single round from your turret right back at you and can kill you so watch out for that. D.Va can also absorb every single shot from that too with her defense matrix. Bastion has a blue light on its back and that is its weak spot. If you want to kill a Bastion quickly, aim for this spot.
D.Va is my favorite tank to play as. She's more of a harasser rather than a tank but her mech can take a beating before blowing up. The mech's guns do more damage the closer you are to the target and you don't have to reload. Her Defense Matrix absorbs any projectile-type of weaponry. It will not block Zarya's beam or Mei's freeze gun so be careful with that. Her self-destruct can blow away anyone in a big radius and it takes 3 seconds to detonate. You will get a new mech once it blows up from self-destruct. On foot, play aggressively to get a new mech but don't engage into large fights cause you'll get killed easily.
Well that's all for now Flee. I'm really tired from work and I need to sleep. I'll finish up later or maybe someone else can finish from where I left off.
