What do you mean shotgun/sword/rocket launcher? They're power weapons, those are supposed to kill you in one shot and don't require any type of skill to use whatsoever. Shotty Snipers just ends up in a camping fest or people rushing with the shotgun and hardly using the sniper rifle. SWAT, especially in Halo 3, is hugely favored to whoever is host because their shots are going to register over someone that isn't host. Same thing applied in Grifball, which got the name of Hostball if you remember.
