Back in my day, the Scorpion wasn't useless.
I actually used both the main gun and the machine gun. Don't know why Bungie started to use the shitty gunner seat that never gets used and that only makes the Scorpion an easier target for ground forces to board/destroy.

I remember in the Halo 2 campaign the Scorpion in the campaign were OP. So it would make sense for Bungie to balance it.
Its a tank, its supposed to be powerful and not made of cardboard.
"Hey guys, i want the OP Scorpion in MP so i can spam the turret fire and shooting the main gun at the same time, because it totally doesn't break the balance in Halo 2's MP"
From my experience the tank was not even that annoying. Maybe if you weren't such a filthy casual at the game and couldn't kill a tank, the tank could have probably stayed the same like its supposed to be.
