I thought the Golden Warthog was behind one of those big doors in Headlong.
The hidden Trigate under Delta Halo's lake. I tried to figure this out for weeks but eventually realized that it was nothing. The switch that supposedly "unlocked" the trigate just activated the gondolas. I tried everything from collecting all the skulls to beating the entire game on Legendary to figure out what was really behind that gate.
Hidden CE pistol in one of Halo 2's multiplayer maps, Tombstone I think was its name. There's a box behind a chain fence that has the CE pistol's wireframe on it. This turned out to be true.
Ghost of Lockout. I'm not sure if this was debunked or not but it was still strange when I first heard about this. I still think it was Bungie trolling a random guy.
Bigfoot in San Andreas. Man I spent hours running around with the minigun in that forested area called Back O' Beyond near San Fierro and ended up finding nothing. I ended up learning that Bigfoot was just a mod for the PC version of the game.
The Ghost Cars in San Andreas was another thing I heard about cause my cousin told me and this ends up being true. In that same forest in San Andreas, there's cars that will drive themselves up and down the hills. Why they do that I still don't know. Could be a bug Rockstar forgot about.
Ratman in GTA 4. In the subway tunnels there's supposedly a homeless man that will run up to you and say "I'm Ratman!" or something like that and will run away really fast. I drove through those tunnels and never found anything.

and the virtual boy honestly wasn't terrible--it was just an overhyped, poorly advertized, and misleading gimmick

the worst thing about it is the design--it just looks and feels ridiculous
A overpriced console with only like 10 games in total all of which are shit, made you dizzy, literally rapes your eyes, and is uncomfortable to play wasn't terrible at all.
It was overpriced, sure.
It has more than 10 games, and half of them are decent. That's a better rate than every console in existence.
It doesn't make you dizzy if you don't play it for hours on end.
It doesn't "rape your eyes" at all.
It's not uncomfortable.
