I'm not exactly a strict follower but it's helped me calm down a lot just trying to live like The Dude. Just abide, man. The only reason I did it is because a bunch of my friends and I had the idea to do it. It's not like we're trying to become preachy priests. One of the tenets of Dudeism is not to preach too much or even at all. Just abide, man. Everything is up for debate and everything is just your opinion, man. But of course the main reason is to improve oneself. Also, you don't need to order a certificate to become a priest, FYI. Like, most of the people I know who got them are stoner bros and not really fedora tippers. I'm not sure where that comparison came up. But hey, that's okay.
