What happened
I stupidly downloaded a file, though, everything was fine, I never opened it. I scanned it, the results showed it was clean. Then I opened it.......McAfee was not helpful in the slightest.Trojans detected, everything went haywire. Ads constantly, Chrome/Explorer starting on their own, the laptop went into slow motion. - I consider it compromised. Interesting thing, it was only earlier that day that I spent a few hours Fixing up all my passwords and accounts, so I had a document containing all this info..... I had to redo everything to make sure I was secure.
Nice one. Try Malwarebytes next time.
