Creative industries like graphics design. That's not something you can automate.
Uh didn't you see that "AI" Google made a few months back that can make art?

Well what I imagine will happen when we get to the point that robots are truly doing everything the world will inevitably have to convert to a techno-anarcho-socialist utopia of sorts oh I just read that first paragraph and thought that's what this was about
Well exportation of jobs is generally greatly exaggerated and used to fear monger, mainly by labor unions. Generally employers know they get a more quality worker over here compared to Abdul in Delhi. The free market will equalize itself on keeping jobs in the country and exporting them. Protective tariffs are bad m'kay.

If you took religion out of the Middle East, everyone would still hate each other.
Okay you have made some really sensible points out of this whole discussion on this issue the past week but this is just ignorant rubbish.
No it is not. Go to Pakistan and you will see hate for people of different ethnicity and violence against different ethnicity. The bagladesh war can be attributed to the Pumjabi's as they comprised the majority fo the force in the Pakistan army.
Plus a number of their actions can be seen as racist. Not religious intolerance.
Great one example of a nonreligious conflict in one country. Still the fact remains that almost the entirety of conflicts in the Middle East is Sunni v. Shia or would someone like to deny that conflict's existence? Saying the same amount of conflict would exist in the middle east without the existence of Islam is like saying the Crusades still would have happened without Christianity existing.

Western Muslims are a lot different than European Muslims. I've seen quite a few surveys showing that Muslim immigrants here find us to be much more friendly and accommodating than their counterparts in Europe. That being contrary to popular belief of course, I know the people on this forum who glorify Europe think of us as a cesspool of racism in comparison. I'll try to find the article I read this in.

Also the reason I picked Truman was he wasn't necessarily un-charismatic he was just very blunt about things. I can't seem to find the quote right now but back when he was a senator he said something to the effect of funding both the Nazis and Soviets until they killed each other off; not exactly the most politically correct thing to say.

For anyone wondering just why Carter was so un-charismatic it comes from his 'Crisis of Confidence' speech which dealt with the energy crisis of 1979. "I want to talk to you right now about a fundamental threat to American democracy. The threat is nearly invisible in ordinary ways. It is a crisis of confidence. It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul and spirit of our national will We can see this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of a unity or purpose for our nation." In this he is basically blaming the American people; not that he was entirely wrong it's just as President you NEVER blame the American people. Not to mention his shitty dealings with several other issues such as the Iranian hostage crisis.

I'm going edit the OP to add least charismatic as well

Yeah Teddy was pretty damn charismatic
625
« on: November 18, 2015, 02:01:37 PM »
In all honesty I'd have to say Obama or Teddy Roosevelt though it's kind of hard to judge the past presidents because we only read about them and charisma doesn't translate well through text.
As far as least I'd have to go Truman or Jimmy Carter.

We'll reach the McDonalds singularity fairly soon, you can only keep on cheating mother nature with hamburgers and diet coke for so long.
Anyone notice how bad rates of childhood obesity are getting? And I don't mean 16 year olds, I mean 4 year olds.
Somehow I doubt the following generation of bloaters are going to be able to survive long enough to reproduce at the prodigious rates their forebearers have.
That's sort of what I was getting at but you said it a lot more politely than I did. The moral question of the century. Should we really allow people like that to breed, survive, and carry on those hereditary afflictions?

« on: November 18, 2015, 12:01:19 PM »
Do some people die without ever breeding? Then no.
Does society foster and support those who have otherwise proven to be ineffective at demonstrating the ability to survive?
Human support networks are part of the environment and they are suited enough to survive I don't get your point, unless it's "blerrr we aren't the ubermenzch because we don't have to worry about running away from wolves"
I'm just saying our modern society effectively breaks the survival of the fittest mechanism by supporting those who can't support themselves. Through which we continue to degrade the gene pool by allowing people that have terrible health problems or that are unintelligent to continue to breed and survive who would have otherwise died without society's support. Call it archaic or apathetic but it's true. We're not above the laws of nature.

Under no circumstances is it right to limit speech. It should be the most sacred liberty and natural right of any society and whether that speech hurt the feelings or offend anyone is irrelevant.
FIRE!
Yeah and I don't agree with that sneakily hidden Fire clause
