Then they could have made a story that's like the Elder Scrolls which isn't race based or have each race start off differently but the over all story is the same.
anyhow there are always mods to do that. From what I'm seeing the modders should be the ones getting payed since they're fixing the developers stupidly or adding in content that should have already been in the game or shouldn't have been removed.
Once again I don't see how it's a necessary feature. And Skryim's story was not race based because it was shit

Day one purchase for me, but I'm prepared for there to be some critical flaw that keeps it from running on half the PCs out there.
That will only happen if Bethesda gives the PC version of the game to some 3rd party studio who hardly has any experience at all to port it on PC.

It happened with NV and Fallout 3 still has issues to this day that can only be fixed with mods.
I think the Gamebryo engine itself is more to blame for that
