As a dumb American that doesn't have cable or a paper subscription anymore, can someone get me up to date on what is going on? Was there some sort of incident that is causing a large emigration, or has this been going on for quite a while and governments are just now starting to respond harshly?
I thought it was all the immigrant deaths that were happening on the journey there as of late that has put it in the spotlight. Of course there was the kid that drowned but a couple weeks back there were trucks found with like 70 dead immigrants in them in Austria. The immigration has been happening a while I think, ever since the Syrian conflict/ISIS.

I listen to most genres of metal (some more than others). Glam, thrash, progressive, industrial, avant-garde, symphonic, power, death, black, folk. I just happen to like Melo-death and Black/Folk the most.
If you like black with folk elements I'd highly recommend Panopticon they're one of my favorite bands ever

my post was sort of vague on Doom Most Dooms sounds like Candlemass for example but yes there are some Doom metal bands that incorporate elements from Death and/or Black but are still classified as Doom like Paramaecium for example

There is quite a bit of difference A lot of it is lyrical theme and vocal styles Black metal uses a lot of symbolism and higher pitched screams while death has a more gutteral tone. They are also more direct with the details of lyrics rather than using symbolism. But there's also differences in the instrumentation too but I don't feel qualified to properly explain them. I shouldn't have to elaborate on Doom since its an entirely different sound. Jim will probably give a better description
