I don't feel like editing my other post but I think what should be done is some unification in Europe. I'm talking bringing back Yugoslavia and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Germany and France now have some pretty piss poor militaries considering at one point in time they were superpowers. But do they need it? Idk, they have the backing of NATO. I see some people ITT saying that the US shouldn't be the sole defender of NATO but I've got news for you, the US meant for it to be like that. If you are the one thing standing between a country and an invading Russia they're going to do anything you want. You've got them in the palm of their hand. It's simple politics. Also the fact still stands that NATO exists to deter Russia and its worked for 50 years and continuing to work. They know they can't handle fighting in that many fronts at once.
The ones that really have to worry about having a large military here are the eastern European countries, the ones that are going to be the front lines if Russia gets ballsy. I remember a news article about Latvia mustering up as many men as it could to patrol the border back when Russia was pulling a lot of shit. They had like a 5000 man army IIRC and that was the best they could do. So those countries definitely need to get larger militaries by either enacting voluntary service or a foreign legion. The thing everyone has to remember though is these countries don't really have monumentally large GDPs to spend on a defense budget and raise a sizeable military.

when i first started it i did it two or three times a weekend for 3 months solid, took a 6 month break and for the last month have been back at it two or three times a weekend
