I get the vibe you dislike android just because it's the other major mobile platform. Widgets provide quick access information and look pretty sleek, you're just nit picking and making stuff up. Whether they leave space is up to you, there are larger widgets such as mine to cover up more space. The possibilities for your homescreen on android are endless whereas on the iPhone everyone pretty much has the same looking screen.Any sane person with taste wouldn't have bought the tacky gold iPhone.

Well take me. I use my laptop for everything but gaming. My laptop is basically my workhorse and I use my desktop specifically for gaming. So in that scenario Windows on my laptop and SteamOS on my desktop works well for me. I wouldn't use the current build of SteamOS on my computer but later in development I would highly consider it.

I like aspects of both. I currently own an Android and have it rooted but certain aspects of it still piss me off. I like mainly the UI of iOS, it looks so much more crisper than Android's.

Depends what you want to use it for. I wouldn't really suggest Linux to anyone that isn't a programmer. Those are the only people that really get any enjoyment out of Linux's OS. Linux is fun to mess around with because it's way more open source and customizable than Windows but it's hardly supported by anything especially when you get into games.
