Back then it wasn't about toppling governments we don't like; it was about toppling governments that were potential Soviet allies. It wouldn't be the US if we weren't hypocrites and toppled governments we don't likeDid Cruz really support dictators who fucked over everyone?Realpolitik fam We didn't topple Mosaddegh because we were under the suspicion of him being pro-Soviet, Mosaddegh was actually disgusted with socialism and was very openly anti-Soviet. We were pressured into it by England because they were losing their grip on Iran's oil industry. Mosaddegh tried to relinquish the British control on Iran and it's main resource and make his country somewhat more independent of foreign rule, rightfully so, and that was his undoing. 127

There wasn't anything hypocritical about it then, it was tactical genius. It wouldn't be the US if we weren't hypocrites and toppled governments we don't likeDid Cruz really support dictators who fucked over everyone?Realpolitik fam That being said it doesn't work quite the well in other applications. The toppling of Assad, Hussein, and Qaddafi were the wrong stances to take. 128

One of the few moderates willing to listen to both sides, is in a campaign hijacked with radical talking and a insult show. Kasich too.Bush may be moderate but he is way too out of touch with the youth. He doesn't really appeal to anyone under the age of 50. 133

I've never heard of the Teutonic or Livonian Orders being talked about in school
Everyone talks about The Knights when referring to the crusades and even then it's usually vague 147
The Flood / Where are your ancestors from?« on: December 14, 2015, 05:40:30 PM »
I recently got around to doing some research on my lineage through my dad's side, found out some pretty interesting shit
my 8th great-grandfather arrived here in the 1740's from Antrim, Ireland and died, along with most of his family, from smallpox during the epidemic of 1779 my 4th great-grandfather was an OG nigga who might have owned slaves. He definitely owned a farm in North Carolina and Alabama during the 1800's. He also lived to be 93, pics for reference Spoiler his son, my 3rd great grandfather, also lived to be 93 and was the first of my ancestors to come to Oklahoma from Alabama. I guess his dad liked the president at the time so much they named him after him (James K. Polk) pic for reference Spoiler I come from a long line of farmers. In fact I'm only the third generation of non-farmers and the first man, possibly person, to go to college. So yeah what kind of neat shit have you guys learned about your ancestors? 148
