Looking at the similarities between Teddy and Woodrow Wilson--not really. Of course there were differences, the Republican Party was founded in direct opposition to the Democrats, but the divergence was nowhere near as substantial as they have been in recent years.
It's been a process. Think of the analogy of putting a frog in boiling water and it just jumped out, yet, when you slowly raise the temperature they sometimes stay in and boil to death. How are we going to pay back the national debt in a dead economy? It's not possible. If monetary stimulus can revive aggregate demand and kick the economy back in gear, we might be able to pull off what Clinton did in the 1990s and bring the debt back under control. Not with people like you, though, sacrificing the recovery.
It's impossible to pay off the massive debt. Period. That literally destroys your own argument. You have to spend within your means, regardless if you're a household, business or country. The value of money doesn't change when demand increases proportionally with supply. It's the same for anything else in the economy. If you increase the demand for tomatoes 100pc and then increase supply 100pc, it'll remain the same price.

I've already told you the money isn't necessarily going to be worth less because of the interaction between supply and velocity. I've already told you that the high levels of debt are caused by government spending from around 2000 onward.
The only person who needs to read the conversation is you.
I've read it just fine, and the debt has been a problem long before 2000. Of course money will be worth less when you create a bunch of ghost money. It not only has interest attached, but devalues the rest of the currency. This is economics 101, which goes back to my common sense stance. I don't see how you are confused.

What demand for money? Yes, you could have a huge increase in the monetary base and have no effect on inflation or spending if demand is proportionally as large.
They've been printing money long before that which is all the same. It's caused us nothing but problems. Despite the fact that it helped Britain's economy in 1933, America's in 1987 after the stock-market crash and both of those countries in 2009 and onwards. What your saying is essentially "We had a serious Recession which was caused by a tight monetary policy, and in response to that we should keep money tight". I mean, come on, even Hayek wanted to stabilise what he called the "nominal income stream" (nGDP) with monetary policy if it were necessary.

That is monetary easing almost two orders of magnitude bigger than the Federal Reserve's, and Sweden has seen a decent recovery. Where does their inflation lie now? A measly 1pc.
The problem is when a corrupt entity has control. There are countless variables you're not considering, like the massive harms this has caused. Collapsing entire empires. It's not a solution to a problem, it delays the problem and makes it worse. It's a fantasy that just further burdens children. I'm saying there are many reasons we're having problems, and I intend to address the source of the problem.
