Serious / Re: How is China NOT communist?
« on: November 02, 2014, 11:04:08 PM »
Their government is mostly modeled on the old Soviet one, but China is really communist in name only these days. Authoritarian? Without a doubt, yes. But if Mao rose from the grave tomorrow, he would be appalled with what he saw. Globalization and the encouragement of private enterprise are not exactly the foremost tenants of revolutionary communism.

I somewhat agree, but China is massive. Not all of it is like Hong Kong, which is arguably the freest city on the planet right now.

I have had some smelly skunk before and it did feel really good, but I used to have a neighbor that would walk by smoking it and it truly was disgusting to me to smell it, haha. I love the medical hydro smell WAAAAY more.

Marijuana is a gateway drug. Eventually they'll start doing crack and heroin.

You have to look no further for proof of that than the now rampant heroin problems in Colorado and Washington, same with fatal accidents and teen usage.

No, and evolution was a mistake that just happened. Nothing you do will ever matter, which is why I'm just waiting for my existence to end.

I sometimes contemplate the universe retracting upon itself only to expand again with the big bang later, and we could live these lives, or perhaps variations of them in some manner, for eternity. I try to live the happiest I can in case this happens to be.

Plus, I didn't really deal any warnings to the people I edited.

Or your fetishes are just weird. Like the way you quote.

I just went and edited the posts which were derailing from the conversation with rape jokes which I didn't really find funny. I mean, I just give up on Serious. Whatever. I was told it was a lost cause, I guess I had to go ahead and try it to figure it out on my own. Bravo.
There's usually never posts like that here.

How is Serious a lost cause? You know as one of the admins you shouldn't be so quick to give up on parts of the site. If you don't like that people make some jokes here, tough cookie. I'm not going to post here as if I were in a courtroom.

Agreed. It's better than I imagined. I actually left the site initially because I thought people were never supposed to insult and would be banned for doing so, then Icy invited me back and then Mr. Psychologist explained you only get banned if it gets out of control and you ignore several warnings. So either have it a bit lenient or enforce the rules harsher is what it comes down to.

You freaking homo sapien

No need to be so serious.

In the defense of this forum, usually serious topics are taken decently serious. This thread in particular shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Serious / Re: China manufacturing growth slows
« on: November 02, 2014, 04:20:47 PM »
Just as there's no way our current system can continue. It's already too late. We HAVE to start over until monetary systems become obsolete.
That's just fearmongering. The idea that the currency simply must be backed by some sort of valuable commodity is a nonsense. In the same way it's a nonsense to think fiat money is backed by faith when it is backed by the economy as a whole.

As for Chinese ownership of U.S. debt, read this.

If it's not backed by value that proves my point that it is worthless, especially given our poor reputation on spending and paying bills. Like I said, it's an illusion that didn't work for the Romans and it can't work for us. It's why this entire world is on the edge of collapse. You can't run a household this way, you can't run a business this way and you certainly can not run a country this way. Why have we been at war for so long? We have to abuse our strength and show we're the biggest kid in the sandbox or we would have been screwed long ago. It's the American dream, and it's going to wake up soon.

There was a time when our currency was sound and backed by precious medals, now it's simply an illusion meant to rob all of us.
The Gold Standard is like the sick joke of economics.

Even if it were good at the time, we have no way of beneficially returning to such a system.

Just as there's no way our current system can continue. It's already too late. We HAVE to start over until monetary systems become obsolete.

Except our debt is far beyond massive and has grown exponentially. It's one of the main reasons the Roman Empire fell. They began putting silver over zinc and other medals. The world eventually found out and their money became worthless. The same is happening to America right now. The world knows our entire economy is a joke backed by false promises and the threat of force. We've become the bullies of the world. There was a time when our currency was sound and backed by precious medals, now it's simply an illusion meant to rob all of us.

Wait, if someone owed you $300,000 you wouldn't want to mess them up? I don't know if many would agree there.
