Huh, it went by fast. I played around six and a half hours total. Maps are a huge step above 4 in my opinion. I think the remixes are a good idea. I want to see some variants that take inclement weather into account. Maybe some interactive elements similar to the ice stalactites on Lockdown.

Technically Star Wars isn't sci-fi even though it does have sci-fi elements, but that is arguable. I'll include it on my list anyways:
Star Wars Saga
Terminator
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
The Matrix Trilogy
Starship Troopers
Bladerunner
Jurassic Park
Alien
Aliens
Total Recall (1990, not the 2012 remake)
Robocop

Haven't yet. Instead I usually watch @midnight. But I've been meaning to give it a try.

Actually I wouldn't mind playing Invasion again. Especially on Breakpoint.

I tried it on Xbox One. To me it is not a $60 game, and feels unnecessary. Would have wanted another Left 4 Dead entry instead, even if it is more of the same.

They still have a lot to fix. It is still impossible for me to find a BTB match, and three months after launch that is unacceptable. And it's not my internet or connection before anyone says that.

Kind of related. Is the WiiU worth it? I want it primarily for the Metroid digital trilogy bundle that was recently announced. I only played Metroid Prime on the Gamecube over a decade ago and never finished it. I just have some questions:
Is there a decent selection of retro games available in the Nintendo eShop?
What is using that control with a built in screen like? Is it just a secondary screen for menus and items, or can I take it into a separate room and play Metroid on it?
How big is the Hard Drive? I would probably get most games digitally.
Is the pro controller worth the price?
Is it worth getting it for just Smash, Metroid, and potentially Mario Kart? I won't be playing locally with anyone, it would mainly be for solo gaming.
Sure it is.
There's a decent selection of retro games available. Sega Genesis, Game Gear, NES, SNES, Neo Geo, etc. They don't have N64 and GC support ATM but it should happen soon. In the meantime, DS games are coming to the Wii U virtual console.
The Wii U gamepad can be used for both maps (and whatever else the devs want to use the gamepad for) and off-tv play. With the metroid trilogy you will have to use the Wii mote and nunchuck, technically you could play metroid away from the TV (the gamepad has a sensor bar built into it) but it would be inconvenient for sure. Pretty much every Wii U game supports off-tv play without needed an extra controller.
The hard drive is 32gb. A variety of external hard drives are supported.
The pro controller is excellent. I highly recommend if you plan on playing Smash or Mario Kart with friends.
It really is. Those games are ones you could play for hundreds of hours but I'm sure you will find other games you would want to play. Star Fox, Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Maker, and Xenoblade are all on the plate for this year and there's plenty of great games from 2013-2014.
That's a big turnoff that I would have to go and buy a wii mote for Metroid. The first two in the trilogy were on Gamecube so I was under the impression that I could just buy the Pro Controller and play them like any other FPS. So they're not adding any Wii U controller support at all for Metroid and it's basically a Wii U port with no enhancement?

Why anyone would want to play that bland multiplayer anyways is beyond me. Some of the maps are interesting, I will give it that.

Game hubs is a good idea. One thing I want in the future, this is next gen after all: The ability to stream my console onto another TV within the house. There are times when I wish I could do this instead of moving it to another TV.

I agree. For me personally the marine armor goes H:CE>H2>H3>Reach>H4. I miss those green HUDs from Combat Evolved.

People are still playing Destiny? Getting a Titan to level 24 was all I could endure.

I still cannot find a BTB game to save my life. And I want there to be an objective playlist.

Picking up the overshield in Halo 1, 2, 3, etc. Not 4. It needs to come back as a sqaure map pickup again.
Picking up the shotgun in Doom. Chick chick
Picking up armor shards Quake and Unreal Tournament
The sound of a plasma or spike grenade sticking to an opponent moments before it detonates

When I was 12 in 2004 I lurked B.Net just to read Frankie's updates regarding Halo 2, but never actually made an account. Didn't make one until 2010 for lolReach.

Single. Last time I was in a relationship was three years ago, if it could even be considered one. It was very one sided and only lasted three months.

I would enjoy Netflix more if they actually had every single Schwarzenegger movie on there.
Spoiler HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE PREDATOR??? LIKE SERIOUSLY!! I too enjoy watching movies with the main cast being someone no one can understand.
I wish Commando was on Netflix...seen it so many times though.

So Metroid Prime Trilogy is getting a remastered re-release on the Wii-U. This might convince me to buy one.

Sigourney's in it. Still hot at 65 Probably will be the first movie I see this year, nothing this month or the next. Will be good, but not the best movie of the year.

I guess it is Stark in the Hulkbuster after all, judging from the way the trailer is edited. Or perhaps they are doing that to mislead us.

No...lets see.
Looking for a decent entry level job for someone with a BA for eight months. It's impossible, no position exists for my liberal arts degree that is something that I'm genuinely interested in. No one takes me seriously for the degree that I have. Went to career counseling and they said to just accept any job. Not happy doing that...hopefully I can get at least Assistant Manager at Gamestop. On top of that, I basically spend all day in the house and it is negatively affecting my life. In November I did a little volunteer work, but not enough. Also applied for substitute teaching, but no calls for three months since I applied. Also any romance/love life is non-existent, and friends live far away and have their own lives. So pretty much I watch a ton of movies just to escape from it. Games have become less enjoyable when you have all day to play them.
So..someone that's going to be 23 in three months, it feels like I haven't done shit my whole life.

Halo 3- Things come full circle with Chief drifting in space, and saying, "Wake me when you need me." If the series didn't continue, it would have been a perfectly bittersweet ending.
Mass Effect 1- After defeating Saren and hearing that ending song play, it gave you a feeling that you did really save the galaxy.
Mass Effect 3- Despite the Star Child and only having three options, the somber piano score that plays, "An End Once and for All" really sets the mood. And that scene with stargazer saying tell me about the Shepard in addition to Vigil's theme always hits me hard despite what others say.
Gears of War 3- The Queen's dead and the Locusts have been eradicated even though we learn they were just other beings fighting for their own survival. Again, the music really makes the final cutscene what it is. Who would of though that a game that has characters with biceps the size of tree trunks could produce emotion. Cheesy yes, but really gave you the feeling that it is time to rebuild and war is finally over, and that Marcus and Anya would have a future together (and it should be, please no Gears of War taking place after this).

I think Halo 5 will be a good game, not a great game. That is unless the campaign truly wows me with dazzling environments and huge sandboxes where large scale battles take place. Give me a bizarre environment that feels truly alien. And please, the campaign needs to be longer than eight missions. We need something new in addition to the classic multiplayer. What will it be? Spartan Ops was a failed experiment. I need to see something truly next gen. I don't think Halo will ever live up to 1, 2, and 3 for me because of the nostalgia; I've been playing Halo for almost 14 years, as old as some of you. All my hopes rest upon DICE and Battlefront this year to truly deliver the next gen experience I have been waiting for, not to mention a game I have been waiting for for a decade.

Half Life 2 also came out 11 years ago. It got me thinking...what if Halo tried to incorporate some simple puzzles? Actually now that I think of it it wouldn't seem possible without a utility tool like the Gravity Gun, or at least a co-op partner. I'm hoping that maybe there will be a little bit of platforming in Halo 5 now that we can clamber. Clamber and jet pack would have been a nice combination to see.

I've been playing Star Wars Bounty Hunter on the PS2 these past few days, something I have not done for probably more than a decade (I had it for Gamecube though). Games made in the early-mid 2000s had a personality and style that can't be replicated, it is hard to put it into words. Bounty Hunter for example, is a game that doesn't hold your hand. There's no waypoints guiding you. There are still checkpoints, but you only have five retries. Level design is varied and interesting. Combat is repetitive but it is still a great game. There's no regenerating health- you need to collect Bacta tanks dropped by enemies. Also, I consider Halo 2 to be the Empire Strikes Back of Halo. I think Halo 3 was a step backwards visually. Everything looks to clean and bright.

Actually was a decent campaign that incorporated some historical events and conspiracies. Call of duty games set within a Cold War timeline are interesting. Would be cool to play on the Soviet side for once in the 70's and 80's.
