I'm sorry to hear that Brute. I would say just keep on trying anyways. Like Ian Malcolm said in Jurassic Park, "Life will find a way..."

Wow, I'm going to be 23 next month. I'm sure there's someone who's 13 on here.

The Flood / Re: How do I stop my porn addiction?
« on: March 06, 2015, 11:01:09 AM »
Jacking off to porn everyday isn't unhealthy
I know. but like I said, it is wasting a lot of time where I could be bettering myself. And maybe it is also giving me the wrong expectations of women.
A few minutes a day isn't a lot of time
It's hours sometimes late at night. And I feel the need to check every single day to see if there's any new videos I'd be interested in. It is a problem.

The Flood / How do I stop my porn addiction?
« on: March 06, 2015, 10:38:14 AM »
No matter how many times I try, I cannot. Once I delete my folder and saved links it isn't too long before a new one is created. And the internet just makes it too convenient. Smart phone as well. I can just lie in bed and instantly access it. I am dependent on it. I can't remember the last time I went an entire week with out it. It's not healthy to even search it every day. I try to justify it by reasoning that it is a way to relieve stress, or to replace not having a girlfriend, but it is wasting too much time in my life. I feel like there has to be something else I can do in its place whenever I get the urge.

Gaming / Re: What would happen if Halo 5 is a total flop?
« on: March 06, 2015, 08:15:00 AM »
MP is a step above Halo 4 for sure. I'm more worried about campaign. Since we have another playable protagonist now, I'm expecting something on par with Halo 2's length. At the very least seven Chief missions and six Locke. I still feel like Chief needs a bit more than that though. I just want Halo 5 to reinvigorate Halo in some way. Halo 4 tried with Spartan Ops, and that failed (what a waste of resources that could have been allocated elsewhere). I wonder what it could be to spark some new life in the Halo franchise. Halo 4 did not really do anything remarkable.

IGN now reports he's in a stable condition. Please Mr. Ford, never give me a scare like that again and only fly in your movies. Or have Peter Mayhew as the co-pilot.

My heart stopped when I read that. IGN though, they reported it as "critical condition". Rough year for him so far after breaking his leg on set.

Gaming / #IDARB is probably the best Indie title on X1
« on: March 05, 2015, 10:44:42 AM »
Easily the best part of the entire game is the announcer and what he says after a goal is scored. The phrases are references to movies, gaming, sports, pop culture in general, etc...

Two that I can remember hearing are, "Forget about it Jake, it's Chinatown!" referencing the movie Chinatown, and "Don't look at it Miriam!" referencing the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy and Miriam have to look away from the Ark opening. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard those. Anyone else try this 16-bit gem? It's pretty much Pong, but controlling a character.

I'm wondering if you would like this...

It's $9. About an astronaut that gets left behind on a Mars expedition. It can get very technical and there's some chemistry involved, but he makes sarcastic and humorous remarks about his situation.
I'll check it out. I used to read a lot, but my studies have killed recreational reading for the time being. Thanks.
Yeah, all that grad school reading must be enough for you for now.

Aliens is a masterpiece, and you can definitely see some of the inspiration it had on the Halo series and other sci-fi. I love everything about it, and it still feels fresh and new.
the scene with the newborn xenomorph. omfg
From Alien? I was talking about the 1986 sequel, which is Aliens haha. It's more of an action movie.

Gaming / Re: if fallout 4 doesn't get announced this year
« on: March 04, 2015, 09:39:09 PM »
I feel like the next Fallout should incorporate some kind of MMO ideas. Do we really want it to be just a prettier version of 3? What if you could meet other players in hub areas? Complete daily missions and challenges together? What about a six player Vault raid with some kind of boss at the end? Yes, I know Destiny...but am I the only one who sees the appeal of those ideas if they were implemented within the Fallout universe? And if you wanted to play the game completely offline you could do that as well. Just a brainstorm.

Desticle please go.

No skinner box for my fallout please.
I'm not a Desticle by an means, I dislike Destiny very much. It was just a weird thought that crossed my mind, and now I realize how that would destroy Fallout, and wouldn't work anyways.

Halo: New Blood
Spoiler
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
I read the preview, and heard the major spoiler...how many pages is it? Don't feel like buying an e-book though, as much as I love Halo.

Dune, you'll finish it in no time.
There was a time when I could read 100 pages a day in high school, (I read Stephen King's the Stand in a little over a week) but now I like to pace myself. Plus I feel like I would lose interest in Dune.

Dune by Frank Herbert
See, the problem is I always hear how great it is, but then I look up how long it is, and I'm like, screw that haha. Maybe one of these days. But right now I like short-ish reads, probably 300-400 pages.
