One thing that doesn't make sense. At the end of the Blue Team mission Infinity control says they've already dispatched a team to Meridian to "handle" Cortana. How the fuck do they even know she's there? Unless they were lying and just said it literally after Chief said he's going there.

So what if Precursors are behind the AI uprising. They have entered the non-physical realm (well I guess that's one theory of what happened to them, right?) Since organic creatures failed to uphold the Mantle and fought over it, and will continue to, they see The Created as the only true inheritors. Somewhere maybe the Flood fits in to all of this too.
Crazy theory time: If the AI pass the test of the Flood, they will inherit the Mantle. You need to stop them from doing this the next game. Yet at the same time you need to stop the Flood...

Also, I hope another lore master can answer this. During The Breaking, The Warden says humanity was never supposed to reclaim the Mantle, and that the Librarian always wanted humanity's created to inherit it instead. What the actual fuck? So whenever Spark was calling Chief a Reclaimer he meant Cortana? Can't be...so that cutscene from Halo 4 w/librarian meant nothing? What's her plan? "You are the culmination of a thousand lifetimes of planning..." Why would she want Cortana to do what she's doing? Lets just make the Librarian a villain now too huh 343i?

Watched a walkthrough on YouTube.
So they basically took everything that could have been interesting and threw it out the window.
Yup. So many things this game could have touched on in the Halo Universe...Precursors, Flood, remaining Forerunners...hell, even if the Didact returned as a digital essence and was using Cortana to get Chief to activate the Guardians so he could keep control from beyond the grave....now that would have been better than what we got! Instead of all these possibilities they give us a story that's been done so many times before in science fiction and give us HAL9000 (ahem, I mean Cortana).

Something I need a lore expert to explain, which I still haven't found an answer for online. How is the Domain still functioning? It should have been destroyed with the Halos, as described in Silentium. Unless they reconnected that. Which means that the Didact going insane inside his Cryptum would also not be true...arghh. So many plot holes...I want it to make sense.

Who the hell is this Brian Reed guy, exactly?
He wrote they story for Spartan Ops. He's a comic book writer. Here's who should have written the story for Halo 5: Eric Nylund (which would have been a perfect fit for Blue Team, and they certainly would have gotten MORE than three missions and much better characterization), Joseph Staten, hell even Greg Bear. All of them could have handled the story better. 343i never takes the most logical route.

Finishing the campaign this morning just made me depressed. I just have too much nostalgia for Bungie era Halo that I grew up with with friends. The stories were simpler then. I know the lore, but Halo 5 is convoluted. What are the chances we will actually see a Precuroser next game? The Flood? Living Forerunners? Mendicant Bias? Probably zil. Instead we will be stopping Evil Cortana and her army of AI and Guardians. And to literally no one's surprise there will be yet another Covenant faction to fight once more. Halo 5 could have been simple and had a good story. In a lot of ways 4 was very similar to CE, Guardians could have been dark and gritty like Halo 2. But they just had to hire Brian Reed to write the story...seriously, who is even in charge of making the most important decisions for that company? Oh yeah, Bonnie Ross with her never ending SJW crusade. I wish I could erase Halo 5's story from my memory.

Warden felt like a Diet Didact...until Cortana took over that role completely.
So is there a reason Cortana turned so evil, excluding "muh rapmancy"?
We still never really learned what exactly the Warden is...so he has thousands of bodies...ok then, did we actually defeat it? Also, why did the Warden not try and stop Chief on Meridian? He says to Locke your passage is denied, or Cortana let Blue Team in probably? And we never actually got to see a Guardian in action either, or know exactly what they can do. So they're giant police bots that can do an electromagnetic pulse...ok. What Halo 5 should have been: Chief seeking out Mendicant Bias with Blue Team (for more than three missions, please). It could still have Locke. You can still have the whole hunting Chief down because he's AWOL angle because Mendicant would be using Cortana in his mind because Chief would recognize her. We could have gotten a dark, mysterious story akin to Halo CE, even 2. Instead we got a Mass Effect 3. AIs wanting to take over the galaxy again, yawn. Not to mention the cringiest Halo custscene of all time when Blue Team finds Cortana (more-so than Halo 4's ending) We knew they were going to do this though. They just had revive Cortana and destroy the emotional ending of 4. After the credits rolled I was sad because this was the story we got.

So what the hell ever happened to this Warzone map?

Alright. Now that I've managed to play some maps that aren't CTF on Truth, my opinion of arena is higher
I think just the fact that midship is terrible in any shape or form gave me a bad impression of arena
Warzone is bae though
My friend and I only keep getting Coliseum for CTF, it's annoying. So is getting Escape from ARC twenty times in a row. They need the veto system to be honest. I still have yet to play Plaza and Truth.

Cortana should have stayed "dead." If it is not really her and we find that out in 6, and the Precuorsers/Flood are behind it, then okay. But SIX full games about Cortana...please, make it stop. 5 was a new beginning to move on without her. That cutscene when Blue Team meets her...my god, the cringe. So humanity won't get the mantle after all in 6...
And also, how did everyone from Genesis get back to Sanghelios so fast? Unless that takes place after...just a sad story taking the predictable route. Sad because I have to wait three years to see if they can resolve this. There's so much more going on in the Halo universe other than MUH CORTANA. What's next for Halo 6? Yet another Covenant remnant to fight? The SAME old Prometheans? Maybe we'll get one new variant.

I'm going straight to MP arena once I get my hands on it.
I'm going to play campaign later (About an hour later).
Spoiler I honestly gave up on a legendary walkthough after the first mission of H2.
I'm a full-blown noob. Plasma pistol is your friend for H2 legendary.

Halo 5: Locke. His backstory isn't interesting, fans not familiar with Nightfall won't care about him, and the player doesn't personally have a history with him compared to Chief. I could write a better campaign. This is basically his game, because 343i wants to be progressive and all.

$10 for a thriller emote dance? Oh how the mighty have fallen...what has happened to the gaming industry? And people defend Bungie, let alone enjoy this game. Remember when $10 got you three maps.

I've had one from a 30 year old as my first time...wow. She knew what she was doing and loved doing it. I've had two from a blonde as well...I kind of want to see her again just to get one. She gave me one on the first date, and the second.
But will you drink yourself drunk in guilt and make another thread about it?
Probably, too much of a conscious. Blonde has a lot of problems and I used her, so I felt bad. But we have something open now. And she said she loves to give head to me.

I remember when Halo 3 came out, I could feel the hype. Halo 4? Not as much, but there was still a rift of excitement.
Now with Halo 5, it's just kinda... oh... another Halo game... all right...
Yeah, it must be a getting older thing. Wow, Halo 3 came out eight years ago when I was a sophmore in high school. Think of everything that was at stake in the story; we were going to finish the fight. We were getting four player co-op, forge, unbelievable custom game options, etc... Now friends I knew then will barely play even with a new release. I know how you feel. I think warzone and mp are what will save this game.

The fist fight between Chief and Locke was pretty cool.
You could tell Chief was holding back, until Locke kicked his helmet and cracked his visor, which super pissed Chief off. He then fucks Locke's shit up and uses the armour restraint device on Locke. Osiris then have to rescue his ass before he falls into lava.
One thing though, how can you crack a visor on a set of Mjlonir armor? There's that thin layer of shield and all...I could see if Locke brought down his shields and all, but not even a flicker during the fight.
Spartans, even IVs, are really strong.
I get that...but that fight also reminded me of old Obi-Wan vs Vader in A New Hope lol.

Apparently the cutscenes are "fanfiction tier cringe", according to some people I'm talking to about it who went and watched them, or some of them without playing the game
This actually true?
Yes, I could write better dialogue if I tried. Even Halo 4 had some memorable quotes, (Didact's lines), but this...This is what happens when your lead writer is a comic book guy. Here's who should have written the story for this game: Eric Nylund. But it just couldn't be that simple.

Looking forward to multiplayer the most because I watched 75% of the campaign, and it's a disappointment. But the mp, especially Warzone, will give my friend and I our Halo multiplayer fix for the foreseeable future.
